H2O activation outside of USA

I know H2O Wireless doesn't roam outside the USA, but I want to at least activate my account from Canada before I cross the US border. Is that going to be OK? Will my iPhone pick up the H2O signal once I cross, or do I have to be within signal for the activation to succeed?

I suggest you post this in the H2O forum right above this one. You are more likely to encounter pepple who have already attempted what you are asking about and can speak from experience.
