Initially the "enter PIM to lock SIM, zero attempts remaining." was throwing me off. I was thinking that it would accept any PIM at that point but that is not correct, it needed the 1111 PIN to lock the SIM first. From there you can change your SIM PIN like normal.
Thank you. I was wondering about the sim lock code. This thread greatly helped. This should be part of the FAQ for the AT&T ST sim card.
