Rogers refusing to give a copy of my contract

So I requested a copy of my contract from Rogers. After the usual obstructions, transfers, waits, rudeness and snarky remarks I have come to know well with them, I was told they don't have it, and I have to get it from the store. Store of course says they don't have it either (the place I signed it), and to contact Rogers. Rogers says store is wrong, they have a holding area for contracts. Standard. Thank goodness I can at least chill outdoors while waiting and have a nap lol.

    Ah Rogers......14 months left.

Since no one replied me in the other thread, and we seem to have the same hatred towards Rogers, just got a few questions maybe OP or someone else can answer (about porting out/cancelling).

    So here's my scenario:

I'm looking to port my Rogers number over to Petro Mobility (With 8-9 months remaining on my Rogers contract. Should be $160-$180). Just curious how Rogers is going to charge me for the remaining balance. Do they send me a final bill (by mail) and automatically deduct the remaining balance on my PAC credit card? Or I have to pay at a Rogers location/by phone?

Note: I did a HUP on a Sony Ericsson X10 in April 2010. Any idea if that will add some money to my termination fee (I don't want them trying to milk me for something they shouldn't be) or it's strictly # of months remaining x price of the base plan? Any other hidden (aka BS fees) port out/cancellation fees I should be aware of?

OP, stores keep their contracts in their own storage facility for a lengthy period of time before it gets sent to head office. Why do you want a copy of the contract? Perhaps there is another avenue you can get your issue resolved.

@ECBomb. Rogers sends all final bills by mail. If you're signed up for PAC, the final payment will be done by PAC automatically. If your contract started in 2010, your cancellation fee is $20 per remaining month minimum charge of $100 and maximum charge of $400. If you have a data plan on term there is an additional charge of $5 per remaining month, minimum $25 and a maximum of $100

Contracts are stored at retail for 0-180days, usually 90 days, and then shipped to Rogers for holding for probably 7 years.

When my wife left Telus for Rogers, she called Telus and told them she was porting her number over. Once Rogers ported the number over, Telus just sent her one final bill for the final amount

Thanks for the replies guys. I cancelled my data already, so it's just a voice plan now. Since I got the X10 through a HUP, when I'm porting out (which is pretty much cancelling my account), is there another amount they'll slap on top of the voice plan penalty?

Just 30 days which you can dispute (search forum) and the $12.50 Service Deactivation Fee if you renewed your term after January 24 and do not reside in Manitoba or Quebec. However since you have an X10 I highly doubt it therefore it would just be the up to 30 days and whatever your ECF is. You could always try to renew without any hardware upgrade if they'll allow you to (usually after 24 months) which would eliminate your ECF. Just pay SDF. Again search the forum for more details. I'm not sure if this loophole still exists and you'll still be billed 30 days.

What does 'Rogers' mean in this paragraph? Rogers CS says the store sends to a holding facility that has nothing to do with the Rogers head office. The Rogers store says I should call Rogers CS to get a copy. It's the usual passing the buck and obstruction I have come to expect, but beyond that I just want to know where my contract is and how I can get a copy.

Confirmed your contract details are on your bill, mine's on the 2nd last page it says the details of my plan. Also confirmed w/ Rogers that sometimes doing a HUP you have to agree to it with a recording(can anyone else confirm?!) and if the rep doesn't do it you're not actually tied down to a contract. They couldn't find mine and told my my contract ending Jan 23rd 2015 is void, not sure how correct that is tho...

Rogers Plus and Fido Corporate Stores (stores owned by Rogers, not 3rd party) send their paperwork monthly to the Rogers Retail head office in downtown Toronto, 350 Bloor Street. I am not sure what happens after the paperwork gets there.

So basically you're saying that I could renew my voice only contract and then cancel my plan. Once I do that, I'd fall under the new cancellation rules which would be $12.50 (System Deactivation Fee) + 30 days?

Does the same apply to porting as opposed to straight up cancelling my service (or is porting considered cancelling to Rogers anyways)?

Sorry OP if I'm hijacking your thread.

Yes - if Rogers will allow you to renew without a hardware upgrade, which is supposed to only be allowed after 24 months on a 36 month term. However I don't believe this is system enforced as I was able to renew 3 lines just by changing my family plan earlier this year. You would probably have to port to ensure the $12.50 + 30 days, as it's been reported in other threads that reps are trying to manually charge the old ECF as the above is an error. I have confirmed only the SDF is showing up for me, and received 3 hardware upgrades in 2011. Your mileage may vary.

You misunderstand. I'm not looking for the terms and conditions. I want a copy of the paper with my signature on it. The terms and conditions means absolutely.....zero. They only mean something if your signature is on the accompanying contract. If they can't come up with this, the terms and conditions mean about as much as faxing me the words to a shakepearean play.

If no one can find your contract, then technically there isn't one and legally you can just walk away. What are they going to do? Suggest it exists without actually proving it does?

Why? Do you think having it will change anything?
