How much will it cost for me to upgrade to the HTC One X?

I'm still in the middle of my contract with Rogers. I know Rogers recently implemented the FlexTAB program. Will I fall under it? I last renewed my contract in August 2010, which means my contract won't expires until August 2013 (3-year term).

I went online and I don't see the HTC One X under my upgrade eligibility. However, given the list of the phones that are on my list, I think I'll just be paying the early upgrade fee, hardware activation fee, and the device price (3-year term). Is this right? I think the One X is going for $129.99 on a 3-year contract.

Does anyone here know if the early upgrade fee decreases as I approach the expiration date of my contract? Is it worth doing a HUP now or I should just buy the device outright?

If you are within the last 6 months of your contract then you should be able to get the early hup fees waived as they recently changed. Not sure for how long this grace period is on for, but I would call.

I called rogers at the end of may, and they waived the administration fee and reduce the early upgrade fee to $50 from $200. but you might still need to do upgrade in the store. You should try to call too.

Thanks for the tip. How far along your contract did you decided to make that call? Who did you called at Rogers?

As I mentioned, I original need to pay $208 for early upgrade. So, kinda still yr and four months (16month)left from my contract.
I decided to call, because I happend ttto be in Sony, and really want t Xperia S. So I called, then got 150+35 +tax credited promise if I upgrade. So I did the upgrade at the Sony Store. Then did the online mail-in rebate,($50) too.
Which I just got the confirmed today with the new bill. So I kinda only pay $8 for the early upgrading, it is not too bad.
And also I found I only need to pay 2$90 to cancel my new 3yr contract, so it means, the MtM price is $50 lower than the retail price.
And if I really decide to cancel, I can sell this phone for at least $450, and cancel. (totally pay $290+ $100for the phone price) I make myself $60. Which if I didn't do the early upgrading, I need to pay 25*16=400 to cancel. Even though I don't think I will do, right now.
Besides, I got some deal for my data too, another two month unlimited, and $5 off for 1 yr on the tablet. so totally free form my tablet plan.

I've just called retention to negociate HUP and they only give me $110 credit, they don't waive the $35 admin fee...

    I still have 14 months = $182 upgrade fee + $35 admin fee...

So call to negociate the upgrade fee...

Sorry to hear that they didn't waive your admin feeis the $180 total price including the phone, or just the early upgrading fee? And didn't you count the $50 mail-in rebate in? ,

Why do they still have the mail in rebate? Seems kinda Car-Salesish if you ask me... Just give the customers the 50.00 at time of renewal... Whats the difference?

In any event, we are in the same boat- Wife wants a new iphone.

    Early Upgrade- 143
    Admin Fee- 35
    Iphone 209
    MIR subtract 50.00

    Total- 337.00

Rogers offered to reduce the EUF in half so save 71.50 makes it $265.50.

I assume its 143.00 to cancel? so even if we pay that and the new phone it's $302.00...

I wouldn't mind seeing if they'll throw in some more data and unlimited incoming or something as well. Looks like I got myself a fun Friday night date with Rogers retentions

I just called them today and my biggest problem is that they can't guarantee the terms of my contracts if I were to renew. I have a pretty decent plan with them and the credits that I have with them will expire in the fall of 2013. The rep was telling me that if I were to resign the contract to get the One X for the discounted price, then those discounts will be at risk and they cannot be guaranteed in the future.

Did you guys get a warning like this?

So here is what I got,
    originally EUF was 20*10=200 ,
after may 17th due to the new Flex Tab policy, EUF became 13*16=208
on May 31, after I called,
    Xperia S $149.99
    Early upgrade fee $208
    Admin fee $35

    Bill I got this week,
    Early upgrade fee credit -$150
    Admin fee credit -$35
    Hardware upgrade rebate -$50
    ----------------------------------------------------------
    Final charge for the phone $157.99 + tax= $178.53

PLUS got unlimited data for my tab for another 2 month, only pay $5(-$5 dicount= free)

And about credit, he said, I need to call back when the credit about to expire,
but the only credit I have is the Value pack $10, which I can just call to cancel the value pack, then shouldn't have any trouble to geet the credit extened.

Besides, I sold my old phone, and trade a new tab on kijiji, still get about $300-400, so kinda get the new phone for free,, plus $200.
Which now since the upgrading, my Cancelation only cost $295, which mean, if I choose to cancel now, I only pay around $100, and a new phone. (and a new tablet). Compare to 25*16=$400.
