My wife has a Proclaim and its only been week and all is well however she only averages 30mb a day.
Be interesting to hear other proclaim users here and their usage and if any problems with throttling.

I realize i started this thread but i wanted to share my experience getting my friend unthrottled yesterday..

Btw he has been throttled for three months and was too lazy to do anything about it..
Yesterday,he finally got fed up with this and asked for my help (he's almost 70)

1 post on ST's wall on FB + 2 emails did the trick! Got unthrottled!

I was the one who actually sent the emails to them because he asked for my help...

So as far as my experience goes with this,the easiest way to get unthrottled is the FB support site for ST

when i called st to get MY phone unthrottled,it took over 3 hours...Big difference from my experience with the ST FB page... Good to know..

I got throttled again. My home internet was turned off due to lack of funds so I've been using my phone a lot this month. 3GB and still have 19 days left. I used Facebook and simply said I was throttled at 15k/sec and wanted it fixed. They fixed it in one hour. I don't think they just disconnect your service any more because I've been throttled 3x now and they always just unthrottle it.

being without internet would sux really bad. i would need a cuddle if it happen to me. glad phone helped

I got throttled again for the eleventy millionth time. I have 6 days in the billing period left and I've already posted on their FB which didnt help because I can't submit a ticket at work as Im not around a PC.

1.1gb is all I've used yet I get throttled yet again and I most certainly have no days where I went over 100mb! F U Straight Talk!!

Would you be able to tell me what you told them when you emailed them and posted on the FB wall? I emailed and called couple times they keep insisting that my account is not being throttled, but that is not the case for last 2-3 months. My speeds have gone down from 5Mbps down to 0.12Mbps.

i can understand being upset about throttled data speeds.it can be un nerving.it does state unlimmited data but nothing about how fast it will be.

Just wondering, do they send a warning before you get throttled, or are now they are just doing it randomly. I feel like I wouldnt even notice if I am being throttled considering I'm rarely using data since I'm mostly on WiFi. When I am on data, I only use browsing and apps like foursque, instagram, twitter, etc and maps occasionally so I'm hoping that I'm not even using enough to be throttled? But idk how ST works since Ive only been with them for a month (so far loving it) but from what ive heard, theyre pretty random...?

Is this throttling issue only confined to an AT&T BYOD SIM or is the throttling also with TMobile and/or the Proclaim? (though VZW speeds are relatively slow anyways as my wife reports)

I personally haven't seen any reports of anyone being throttled on either T-Mobile or Verizon, when using Straight Talk.

BTW, if you're concerned about Proclaim's data usage and have more questions about it, you might find this YouTube video interesting. This guy has used quite a bit of data and wasn't booted.

So it's basically AT&T behind the throttling apparently.

We were just curious after reading all these posts.

And I may join my wife and get a Proclaim cause I need VZW coverage. I have an Inspire now but of course only Edge on my current provider, TMobile, but if I used it on ST I'd get an AT&T SIM obviously.

folks gotta remember at&t is the backbone of this nations data service.if you live in a major metropolitan there is a lot of people using there cellphones.an cell-tower can only handle so much data.included in that data is talk and text.has anyone ever try to find out how cell phones work.

further more i have yet to here that any one was told they couldn't use there data on there phone.you got your bandwidth cut back for a period.people come on here bragging about how fast and how much.did you not think at&t guys aint reading this.

What about the backbone Verizon has created...aren't they larger or as large as AT&T? Or did you mean AT&T on ST.

I agree with you about the speed thing. Since you can't stream things and such, why would one want faster and faster speeds just to look at Web pages?

My wifes Proclaim with 3g is speedy enough not to frustrate her while surfing the Web.

Now my phone on edge with TMobile, hmmmm that's another story and it's called slooooowwww.

I'm not sure if I have been throttled before, but one day my data speed went to hell. I had the typical 15kbps down and 1+Mbps up so I knew something was funky. Lasted all day while other AT&T users around me experienced no data issues. I called, and before explaining the data speed issue, the rep stopped me and said he knew what the problem was and put me on hold, and within 2 minutes, came back and said reboot and try now. Everything was back to normal. I didn't ask what was wrong nor did he say. I got no warning calls or anything before hand. I called the BYOD CS number.
