"Radio Interface Resource Shortage" on Evo

I get this error message all the time when trying to send text messages. It has been fairly constant over the past week, but doesn't happen all the time.

I've found if you restart the 3G data by toggling it off, then on again, it will usually start working properly. Has anybody else experienced this glitch? I hope it is temporary.

I have the same problem on my HTC Evo V 3d. I normally restart my phone, but I will try turning off 3g data instead to fix it. It looks like you have the same phone as me, I seem to have received a rebranded HTC evo 3d, it has the sprint logo rather than the virgin mobile logo. When I googled this error, I seem to only get sprint related issues. Let me know if you come across a fix.

*edit* Did you receive a sprint branded evo?

uhmm... it isn't rebranded if it still has the sprint logo. -_-

Rebranding is the act of removing or covering the previous logo to put a new one on.

Yes. My phone has the Sprint logo in the upper right-hand corner.

sorry, my interpretation of re branding is wrong i suppose. Virgin mobile pulled some sprint branded HTC Evo 3D phones from their stock, and flashed the memory, and put the virgin mobile software on them instead of sprints.

my theory is that the sprint branded phones are triggering some anti-rooting function. Or at least thats what I have gathered from peoples posts about this particular error. but I only find this error being posted from people on the sprint network.

I'm too lazy/impatient to bother with VM's tech support. The language barrier is a bit much for me personally.

Unless this problem gets out of hand, I'll just keep toggling the 3G. That trick has work every time so far...and I don't have to wait on hold and/or be transferred to 7 different people.

seems like everyone was getting it fixed by calling customer support in the sprint days. here is hoping vm can easily fix the same error.

The interference is the wifi radio. In order to resolve the issue you must turn off wifi. A software fix from vm is required.

I was getting this problem, and it turned out my phone was activated correctly. I couldn't make calls or send texts. Then, it corrected itself and I haven't had the problem since.

Not sure if this problem is related to this topic, but the other day my 3G data wasn't working correctly. The 3G icon would turn off and on, and the arrows would blink like normal, but I had no data (no internet or email). Phone calls worked though. The VM rep was about to give up and file a support ticket, but finally got it working. He did a "modem reset" on his end and then all was well.

I think that's the solution. I get the same error whenever I have 4g or WiFi turned on and active. As soon as I turn it off all my un received texts show up.

You also cannot make or receive phone calls while WiFi is on. Really bad glitch, everyone please urge virgin to fix this immediately.

I can make and get calls just fine with Wifi on. Problem is on your end.
