I made a whole thread about it a while ago.

60kbps but unlike what he said sometimes you can use edge and get a bit more speed but edge is always unstable so you may go even slower.

Nope, I specifically tested the phone on the EDGE network and was still being throttled, even on EDGE.

This is what I get on EDGE, when I'm not throttled:

Both, this test and the ones from the "I've just been throttled" thread were ran on the exact same cellphone tower and with the same reception.

Thus concluding that T-Mobile throttles you to the same speeds, regardless of whether you're on EDGE or 3G/4G network.

bet if you run that test again at a different time of day or even move just a few feet the results will change. my edge at work vary s wildly from barley dialup to even faster then you got.

I've tested it during rush hour and gotten similar results. This cellphone tower that I use for these tests always gives me good speeds regardless of the time, which makes it ideal for conducting pre and after throttle tests.

I agree though that EDGE can be dialup-like. The reason that you're getting these speeds is because you have bad reception, the tower is congested, the tower has insufficient backhaul or all three.

However, the cellphone tower that I run this on, doesn't have any of the mentioned problems.

Just ran this at an earlier hour than yesterday and speeds are even better. It should be the other way around.
