Mobile still rate limit encrypted traffic to 10kb/s?

The new promo of 30 bucks has caught my attention, but if they still rate limit their data traffic, especially encrypted traffic to unusable speeds it will be a no go.

Example when I was a Mobile customer before d/ling a 2mb attachment via https took 30 mins. Sites what support https made my mobile experience to be nil on Mobi.

Also are downloads capped at 2Mb/s?

    Is that still the case?

Download speeds are still capped at that speed. Mobilicity announced today an upgrade to 21Mb/s by the end of the year.

HTTPS traffic is much more usable then it use to be. Practically as fast as http traffic in all the times that I use it so they have fixed that problem.

Still capped but better. Probably around 30Kb/s cap.

Tried with a friends phone. Speed test showed 2Mb/s down, but downloading a 3.5MB attachment from Yahoo mail (HTTPS session) took about 15 mins.

Unlimited data but one frustrating mobile experience. Sticking with Wind.

During the network upgrade the ports will open though, so this will no longer be a problem.

Is BIS encrypted? If so, does Mobi throttle BIS traffic? If so, may be I'd cancel my BIS service sooner than plan. Anyone knows?

This is very, very disappointing. From claims to the contrary and absolutely no feedback on the issue prior to xtachx's meeting with the execs, I had the understanding HTTPS throttling was no longer practised. This needs to be fixed! and we shouldn't be kept waiting for the HSPA+ upgrade to have the problem corrected.

In the AWS/cellular context, TAFL is Industry Canada's list of all base stations in operation, as submitted by the spectrum licensee the month prior.

The underlying database is Industry Canada's Assignment and Licensing System (ALS)
A subset of the ALS is published monthly as the Technical and Administrative Frequency Lists (TAFL)
Real-time access to the AWS/cellular data of ALS is provided by Spectrum Direct's (SD) Geographical Area Search
