    Plantronics M55?

Anyone used one yet, they are 30 bucks on Amazon (cheep and basic) and it's time for me to buy a new BTH? I'm having battery issues.

    Thanks.

Update: It's an M55, and it's not being sold yet. Amazon is saying a few weeks.

Haven't used one, but I've been looking around at what Plantronics has to offer more recently. I'm thinking about getting something for my sister as a birthday present.

I think the M155 is the model also known as the "Marque." And believe it or not, this unit is already considered old. There's a newer model which came out just this May called the M55, and it might be considered the M155's successor.

I don't really get Plantronics' marketing. They seem to always be coming out with new models without relating anything to models that already exist. Two year old models like the M100 & M1100 fall off the map (neither got very good reviews) and show up in the bargain bin, then you see new models in a lower price range with nothing directly related to what came before. Anyone who reads this sub-forum over time knows about the Voyager Pro models, as well as the Discovery 975. These two lines have been the high water marks for Plantronics, and are still available (higher-end models in the $80-$100 range), but they still keep coming out with new stuff in the $25-$60 range every year, seeming to throw stuff at the wall just to see what sticks (sells).

I think the M155 would be an okay model (especially at the price available from some online retailers), but I think I'd like to check out the M55, mainly because it's newer.

Regarding online retailers, it's a funny thing: You can get new, in-box versions of three and four year old models at some of these places (with original warranty), and if you happen to like the model offered, you're all set. And the prices are pretty good.

The M155 is about 30 bucks on Amazon, but I'll be waiting. The ear piece is new on the M55, is supposedly better, but probably just marketing, who knows!

A little more info we received from Plantronics being one of their distributors:

    M25 and M55 benefits:
    ● DeepSleep mode that extends battery life for up to five months
    ● Voice Alerts that whisper talk time, battery level, and more
    ● Lightweight, compact design, weighing 8 grams
    ● A2DP, wideband and multipoint technologies
    ● Digital noise reduction for improved call quality and built-in echo cancelling
    ● Up to 11 hours of talk time, 16 hours of standby or 150 days in DeepSleep hibernation mode

According to Plantronics - The M25 is available now for $39.99 at Plantronics.com, later in June at various wireless service provider stores. The M55 is available now for $49.99 at Plantronics.com.

Anyone get an M25 or M55 yet? If so, would you be able to do a quick review? From what I can tell the only difference between the two (despite the different appearances) is that one comes with Vocalyst pre-installed.

    O.K....
Just tested the M25, via Verizon.
Nice little b.t., as far as size and price is concerned. Other than that, I had nothing but noise cancellation and connection issues. I had this device paired to my Moto Razr Droid. Sending and receiving calls was a virtual nightmare (never making the proper connections and dropping the calls).
As for the AD2P, it's just like it was mentioned on Amazon... streams music or sound just as long as your phone device is at the most 5 ft. from your person. And if per say your device is in your pant or coat pocket, you'll loose all connection.

At first I thought this was an issue with my Razr (sporting 4.0.4 ICS), but with my other b.t.'s (JB Icon, JB Icon HD, JB Prime, and Voyager Pro HD) I didn't have any connection issues.

I'm rather interested in the M55, and hope it doesn't turn out to be a flop like the experience I had with the M25.

Bummer, all I want is an inexpensive headset that I can quickly stick in my ear, that works!

    +1 on that.
Been using my old yet operational JB Prime. Can't really kill it, I accidentally knocked it into a pint of Fat Tire... and after drying it off it seemed to work better (could be the Fat Tire). http://i829.photobucket.com/albums/z...azda/drunk.gif
