I haven't kept up with all the 850/1900 Android devices (there's tons of them) but am looking to get one for a family member who is moving to StraightTalk. I believe the StraightTalk Android phones are CDMA and likely have bloatware, hence my preference they just buy an unlocked GSM phone.
Anyone have suggestions?
Phone must have or allow:
-Android 2.1 or above and can be rooted
-GPS
-3+ MP camera with flash, autofocus preferred but not necessary.
-Be able to be purchased new or refurbished with warranty
-3G 850/1900
Currently looking at SE Xperia X8, but I have an X10 and can no longer root it so thats cause for concern.
I suggest you Huawei Ascend G300, Alcatel OT-990, HTC Wildfire. All the three phones have Android OS and they are root able. All the three have GPS, 5MP camera with autofocus and LED flash. They all can operate in 3G network, but Alcatel OT-990 only has 3G 850/1900. They all cost less than $150. Choose the one which best suits you. I prefer HTC Wildfire.
