can this data plan be used on a blackberry? for bbm and emails and such...
Wow... was i ever in time... got this plan yesterday and today it's been downgraded. I have a question: I chose auto renew from creditcard... does that count as a top up? Or in other words, do I still need a monthly ($10) or yearly ($100) top-up as well? Thanks! (new to Telus)
^I suggest you change the Auto Renew Option from Credit Card to Account Balance and use the Auto Top up credit card option to refill the account instead.
I found that many people don't stay on prepaid for very long from the OTA scans.
25GB Cap? DIY Telnus prepaid/Koodo unlimited EVDO internet (for $10 per 2 months, to keep account "Active"), Max 3Mbps download speed, if you roam on Bell (free), then you get non-NATed IP

I just noticed Telus has removed a couple of other features as well: favourite 5 unlimited talk/SMS for $20 and one number unlimited $7.
There goes the 3 biggest deals Telus had for the longest time, at least in my opinion.
I decided to pose the question to Telus, and I might as well share their answer here
So, in summary, I can keep the creditcard top up and just need to check regularly if I've got enough credit to pay the 911 fee and make the occasional callWhen you purchase a feature renewal directly on your credit card, you do not have separately to top up your account as well. Your balance expiry date will be extended with each feature renewal, so you will not lose your balance if you do not top up. However, since the feature renewal does not cover the monthly E911 fee or any other services, you will still have to top up your account occasionally. Please also don't forget to update your account whenever you get a new credit card or a new credit card expiry date.![]()
You are more then Welcome to listen to Telus or you can take my advice in post # 14.
You are taking a risk by having it feature renew from your Credit Card. Here are some of the things that can go wrong.
1) You are over your credit Card limit
2) Your Credit Card Expired
3) Your Credit Cards gets lost or stolen the day before or on the night of your renewal & you report it to your credit card company, therefore your payment will be denied and your going to begging to have your features back.
4) Technical issue. Eg. System goes down
5) You are close to your credit card limit and someone take an Authorization of an amount which exceeds your Credit Limit.
6) I can go on & on.

Got a word from telus today via e-mail that although features are grandfathered, they are now set to expire after a period. so this 250mb will not be permanent, not sure how long they will grandfathered there features from now. I recently lost a feature to "expiring" which is why i inquired and found out their new rules.
This is a partial reply from telus:
This grandfathered feature is now expired and after this month will no longer be available for the $10.00 per month. A lot of our grandfathered Prepaid Features are now becoming expired and no longer available.
Price increases and changes are standard within the Cellular Industry and TELUS remains very competitive with other Canadian Carriers. Before we make any changes of this such, we will give you at least thirty days’ written notice, by bill message, text message or e-mail.
when i was on the $10/100MB plan I was always jealous of the prepaid customers who got 250MB because I would use just a little over 100MB unless I was really careful with my data usage. in fact 250MB probably still works for me since that's all that I used when I moved up to the $20/1GB plan or now my 5GB as part of my SASK55.
I still have my (grandfathered) $7 one-number unlimited feature being automatically renewed and charged directly to my credit card. What happens, if my balance goes to zero for a long time (several months)? Surely, 911 fee will not be paid. So what will happen then? Will it prevent the $7 feature from auto-renewal?
