i have a old gophone thats balence has long since expired and it wont let me do anything with the sim wont even let me login online, i also have a idk 4-5 month old gophone sim for a phone i got at walmart and the phone doesnt work right but the sim wont work in other phones.
There is onyl 1 att store around me and there not a like legit store there some foreign owned half ***** store, and they told me id have to buy a new sim for 25$ or i have to activate the sim with a contract to get it for free.
What can i do? i wanna just get a unlocked phone and use my gophone account on it, i love my 25$ a month service its totally affordable for me (about all i can afford right now) and i dont wanna go spend 100-150$ on anther walmart phone that is going to have a locked sim when i can get some pretty nice used or second hand phones in the price.
Samsung focus htc mytouch 3g bunch of different blackberrys
So what are my options i been looking everywhere but no luck so far![]()

If I'm annoyed and you're annoyed, does that make us a paranoid ??
Sarcasm is a fine art...

It's not a matter of if you win or lose, it's how you assign the blame
is there any way to get a new one without an att store because like i said the only att seller around here isnt very legit there pretty sleezy.
You can buy unused/unactivated SIM cards online through the unmentioned big sites (big "a" and little "e"), make sure that they are At&t compatible. Once you get the SIM, call customer service (prepaid or postpaid) to activate it from another phone. No requirement to go to a store to get the SIM.
I suggested you buy it online because I didn't think you wanted to go back to your local store.
If you go to an AT&T owned store they should give you the SIM card for free. Last time I needed a replacement card I sort of skipped the line, they have to ring up the SIM in their system for inventory purposes but I got a SIM card for free without giving them any account info, called and activated it later on.
But if there is no real AT&T store look on some popular online auction site and you can get them for anywhere between $0.01 to 2.00 SHIPPED.
The thing is the non AT&T stores don't care about AT&T's bottom line, which should be to attract and retain as many customer as possible. They care about their bottom line, hence they charge $25 for something they at worst get for free and at best pay $1 or 2 for.
More Bars in More Places.
yea i know the store is sleezy and there is no actual att owned stores around me, this place is such scum that if you go to them and say there is something wrong with your phone they wont even touch it they will just tell u that they will send it back to the manufacturer at your expense of shipping and repair fees, and if you have insurance they still add extra charges on it, you get better help talking to atts foreign customer support.
go to the AT&T Device support center they dont have go phone sims and will give you another one just tell them you need a new sim
Pretty good advice in this thread. I suggest buying a SIM for 99-cents online. Another possibility is going somewhere where there *are* real AT&T stores. For example, I visit San Francisco at Christmas to visit family. I've been to New York City, once. Good luck!
