When did these prices slide in?

    Nokia Lumia 710 - 199.99 (249.99)
    HTC Amaze - 299.99 (449.99)

In the AWS/cellular context, TAFL is Industry Canada's list of all base stations in operation, as submitted by the spectrum licensee the month prior.

The underlying database is Industry Canada's Assignment and Licensing System (ALS)
A subset of the ALS is published monthly as the Technical and Administrative Frequency Lists (TAFL)
Real-time access to the AWS/cellular data of ALS is provided by Spectrum Direct's (SD) Geographical Area Search

Think they're part of the Father's Day promotions (along with all plans for $30). Lumia 710 and the Amaze are great deals, but too bad the 710 is impossible to unlock (thus far).

Really? Most of the people I've seen forums have been unable to unlock the Mobilicity version of the Lumia 710.

Now that the Amaze has ICS - not bad indeed.

$15 and $20 for Rogers and Telus versions.. Not Mobilicity or Wind version.

Any idea how I can get a new device for these prices without a new activation? Frustrations with my HTC Panache are really ticking me off.

Just a reminder, the $30 Plan sale ends tomorrow, Sunday. Would make an especially nice value package combined with one of the sale phones. Or the budget BlackBerry Curve 9320 @ $149.

Do you know if it's possible to purchase one of the phones on sale without a new activation? I really need a new phone with the amount of times that I've had to send my Panache out.

Some dealers may still allow you to purchase it. It all depends on the store. I find the mobilicity store on Queen Street to be pretty good with allowing you to purchase things that normally require a new activation. I'd say your best bet is to call the store and ask.

I'm pretty sure you don't need to root and install a custom ROM to get it to work on Robellus, I just bought my Amaze yesterday and the box says that the Amaze is quad band, meaning that it'll work fine with Robellus and Wind/Mobilicity without anything other than a SIM unlock.

Anybody know a mobilicity location that will let me buy the amaze without having to activate a new line? I tried the queen street location with no luck.

Lol, of course it's no fun, but development for the Amaze isn't exactly booming. Most ROMs ate just mods of the stock ROM, plus there's no way to revert to stock as far as I know since we don't have an RUU for Mobilicity. That aside, you don't need anything more than a SIM unlock to use the Amaze on Robellus.

It took a bit of work to get my Amaze, but what I did was have them activate me on a month to month line and just pay for one month, and cancel it after that. Not exactly the best way to get it, but it's still chapter than buying it at regular price. This was actually suggested to me by the staff at the store.
