If you paid full retail AT&T might/should give you the unlock code w/o hassle. You usually DO need a non-AT&T SIM card to unlock as putting that card in will make the phone request the unlock code at that point; it normally won't with an AT&T (or AT&T MVNO like Straight Talk) SIM.
I said it was useless with the One X. T-Mobile itself is another story.
I usually support government regulation, but It is unfortunate that the government over-regulated and killed the AT&T/ T-Mobile Merger The best explanation of the pricing nutiness in the industry. Why Sprint and T-Mo will always suck.
The only way to end the pricing insanity is to eliminate contracts and subsidies.
I want Wifi calling on AT&T. If you text while driving, you're an idiot. End of story.
first you have to get unlocking code for your htc. that i recommend unlockgenie.com from my personal experience. place an order at unlockgenie.com along with the following details
your phone carrier
your phone imei number
your phone model
they will mail you the unlock code to your mail address
How to Enter Unlock Codes into HTC One X phone:
1) Insert a not allowed Sim Card and turn ON your phone.
