That's up to you and whatever phone you feel is worth your money do it! Great thing about most AT&T and tmobile mvnos you can pretty much use any devices that the carriers carry or get international model with the right radios! Gs3 seems like a great device but if your spending that much the galaxy note could be had for cheaper and somewhat on the same playing field as the gs3

I was on an AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note and I just upgraded to an International Samsung Galaxy SIII (I9300) and I am loving it.

What do you mean worth it? That question is subjective. I can tell at least the international version is FAAAST! Paired with ST, I am getting full HSPA+ at 21mb, about 6down/1up depending on area/signals (as I would with AT&T). I am able to use every feature to it's fullest extent at a fraction of the cost.

IMHO, (like tony the tiger says) it's GREAT!

EDIT: Even though the Note was capable of 42mb HSPA+, my data speeds are the same~

    is it worth it
Absolutely not! Buy that phone and ship it right to me - don't even take it home. (You might be tempted to put it on Straight Talk if you do.)

That's one of the two phones I'm looking at for my next purchase. (The other one is the Note II, which is why I say "future".) I agree with clockcycle. The only possible drawback is the price. (And I don't believe there's a Cyanogen ROM for it yet, although I could be a few hours behind the times.)

Unlike T-Mobile, I do not believe AT&T supports dual carrier HSPA+ (aka DC-HSPA+) which would explain why you didn't see a difference in speeds between the two phones. AT&T's attitude is, "you want faster speeds?, get on our LTE network".

Is there any difference between the international and the US version of this phone? Since the US version is out now, I was planning on buying it from ATT and activating it with ST and their ATT simcard. i was under the impression that this would work (putting a locked att phone onto ST) is that right? I dont need to buy the unlocked version if I dont want to right? I just need to make sure that if I buy the ATT s3 i need to get the ATT sim card

No need to buy the "unlocked" version unless you are going to use it overseas or want to use a T-Mobile sim card in it. If you are fine on AT&T then just buy the "locked" version. I have that and it works 100%. NO LTE ever but it has their HSPA+ network which is quite fast enough 6 to 7 "M"bps download all the time.

AT&T is much better than VZW in my area. People always say VZW has a better network but i believe if you do not travel around state to state all the time, AT&T is just as good..........for me at least. I HATE VZW..........will never have then again no matter what they do!
With VZW........BAD network where i live and work!
    Changed to ATT..........

The biggest difference between the US and International version is... the US version is a dual core phone and the international version is a quad core phone and doesn't support the AT&T LTE network. I should say, it is not flashed the get the AT&T LTE network. But, truthfully, it doesn't matter if it supports the AT&T LTE network or not if you're going to use it on ST. You won't get the AT&T LTE network anyway.
PLEASE, don't PM me with questions that could and should be answered in the open forum. Then everyone can benefit from the answer, and you will get more than "one" opinion... Thanks.

thanks guys! The quad core thing would be awesome, but the international version is more expensive from what I'm seeing on ebay and amazon. Do you think ATT would let me purchase one of their phones non contract price even though I'm not with them? or would I have to buy it online somewhere?

EDIT: just went to the att store to try and purchase it right from them and they said I cant get it, even no contract price, unless I'm an att customer, looks like I have to find one online that's close t othe att price of $550!

I guess so...............a few years ago i got a iPhone 3GS. I canceled and returned everything within 2 weeks. When i bought the HTC One X though....................the guy working there did not know me and did not ask for my name even. I just told him i wanted to buy the One X and not have them do anything. I told him i was going home to activate it on Straight Talk. He didn't really care.Only after he went out back to get the phone did he ask for my name to complete the sale.

Oh well..............................you will be OK buying on Amazon and WILL INDEED love the phone. It is awesome!

As someone who left virgin abut 4 months ago, I think you will be very pleased. Just make sure you get something like 3G watchdog to watch your daily and monthly "safe" limits. When I left in february, I was torn between getting an iPhone or a skyrocket. Found a better deal on an iPhone 4S first, so I scooped it up, and have loved it ever since. Would have loved the skyrocket as well, I'm sure, but having already had iPads and iPods in our family, I was able to bring it home and immediately put about 250 app on it. But you won't regret leaving virgin to go to ST unless you are used to streaming Netflix all the time over 3G; but if your connection on virgin was like mine, there was no use trying to stream much of anything by the time I left.
