Question HTC One V warranty repair when phone has been unlocked and used on Rogers.

I bought the HTC One V outright from the Koodo online store a couple of weeks ago, unlocked it for Rogers, and now I have the dreaded QHSUSB_DLOAD error (a corrupt partition which makes it impossible for the phone & screen to power on).

I just called HTC and they said that for Canadian warranty service I should go back to Koodo as it's the provider that sends in the phones in Canada. The HTC CSR said that if I have any problems due to the phone being unlocked I should call them back and they will arrange something else.

Does anyone have any experience getting an unlocked Koodo phone repaired when I don't even have an account with them? Any tips / advice?

at this point, the phone should still be under DOA period, since from what I recall, the phone wasn't release more than 30 days ago. The fact that the phone has been unlocked doesn't matter really. They don't even need to know! If you are in the 30 days, they are supposed to give you a brand new one.

But won't Koodo give me hassel for not having an account with them?

I did purchase the phone from their online store, without activation and have the receipt for the full $175 purchase price.

There shouldn't be any problem. If you bought the phone from Koodo and you have your purchase receipt the DOA period should be honored. All you can do is try.
