Hello guys!
I have a problem that I've been carrying for a couple of months because no one knows the answer.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S2 with Android 2.3.3 and when I take a picture with the phone's camera it makes a sound. (regular sound, which I don't want)
I checked the camera's setting menu but there is no 'sound' option. Also went to the general phone's sound settings and deactivated the system / media volume, but nothing works.
It makes that sound even when on silent mode.
How can I get rid of it? I don't want any sound while taking pictures.
thanks !
The shutter sounds like its on. You would have to go into the camera app, then check the settings.

I am not sure if this has changed but as a long time policy phone makers have been disabling the ability to silence the camera shutter to prevent "candid" shots of other people. People had to root their phone to get around this.

Need to take some discreet upskirt pics on a train do you?
Oh, sorry- realized you're in Israel, not Japan.
Yes, this is pretty much fixed in the camera application. Although you can either root the phone, or on Android there are 3rd-party camera apps that will take pics without shutter SFX. Perhaps a Silentsnap *coughcough* is the sort of thing you're looking for?
mine doesn't make a sound when the phone is in silent mode.
My T-Mobile GS2 has the shutter option in the default camera app settings.
yea the shutter is like the first hack even on my motorola razr back in 2006. it's one of the most annoying sounds. cyanogen's camera app allows you to disable the shutter sound.
Here's an article that might have something to do with it: http://www.unwiredview.com/2012/04/2...ound-removers/
You can root your phone to remove the sound. There are custom roms out there that can disable it for you. It's stuck on for phones these days to prevent pervs from taking pics
