From the RM-809 user guide (page 81):
    Your device is approved for use on the WCDMA 850, 1700, 1900, 2100 and GSM/EDGE 850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz
    networks
Looks to me like the Band VIII/8 (GSM, 900) you say is missing is listed.

Oh, and the WP7 HoFo app also doesn't show signatures, at least not by default.

That's not a heading for "specifications", only generic information, in essence saying its a modern "digital smart phone". If it was specifications, I would expect data listed such as weight, dimensions etc. That's how I interpret the term "approved for use". It's not where you look for specific models and configurations.

You're just being difficult. Nowhere is it written that the frequencies a phone can communicate on should be solely written in a so-called "specifications" section.
The fact that weight / size etc are missing does not invalidate the information I provided. In fact, given how that is the user guide for Nokia's US version of the phone, "approved for use" implies FCC approval.

Need more proof? Here are the test reports Nokia submitted to the FCC as part of their application for approval of the RM-809 model (the NA Lumia 710)(click, click).

If that's not enough, here's some additional circumstantial evidence: the EU Lumia 710 (RM-803) user guide lists different frequencies (page 80) -- these match the frequencies erroneously listed for the RM-809 on the Nokia consumer website.

Looks to me like you're incredibly dense. Band 8 isn't listed in the portion you quoted, yet you claim it's there. GSM means different things. When talking about WCDMA/UMTS bands GSM means band 8. When talking about 2(.5)G, GSM just refers to the technology, and otherwise, GSM refers to the standards group. When it says GSM/EDGE, it's not talking about Band 8, it's talking about the technology. Any time Band 8 is listed it would always be shown as VIII/8/900, only AWS and IMT are ever called out by name in spec sheets. No phone with a current Snapdragon chip is pentaband, period. No Windows Phone is pentaband, period. Neither the 803 nor the 809 variant of the Lumia 710 is pentaband, period.
The word 'Pentaband' means '5 Bands', from the Greek word 'pente' meaning '5'. For a phone to be pentaband it has to support 5 bands. If the phone has AWS support, it doesn't automatically mean that it is pentaband.

Don't send me PMs for questions that can be asked publicly.
