Not T-mobile based, but Boost doesn't have caps or throttling yet. Of course, it is Sprint data, so you may feel like, you are being throttled.

Boost and Virgin mobile are now cap/throttle after 2.5GB

t-mo is unlimited, but throttled at whatever point your deal with them says it's throttled. It's not capped whatsoever unless you have a deal with them where it's capped.

t-mo has a lot of offers on the table, so anyone is likely to find something to be pleased with.

Virgin throttles at 2.5GB. That's been widely advertised. Boost is murkier - I haven't seen any reports of throttling in the boost forum on HF.

The more data centric $30/month T-mobile plan throttles after 5GB. A good deal considering the price.

I don't really think true unlimited is sustainable. Even the wired internet providers often have limits. The future is either deal with a soft/hard cap, or pay by the GB.

T-Mo has different plans with different caps. Mine is capped at 5GB. Boost is capped at 2.5GB, period. I have twice as much data now than if I would;ve stayed.

It was announced at the same time as the WiMax/4G.

    Ah, good to know. Thanks.

Back when I had Boost, it felt like I was always being throttled anyway. Very slow data. T-mobile is often literally 10 times faster.

Verizon prepaid is the only truly unlimited survivor with unlimited 3g data. No 4G LTE yet (except on Broadband/tablet prepaid plans). Pricey though. Page Plus beats them for value . With Boost now capped/throttled, all other prepaid truly unlimited options at high speed (at least full 3g ) are gone.

From what I can find on their website, Verizon caps at 1GB on their $80 plan. T-Mo offers 5GB for $10 less.

There is always the 100 min/unlimited SMS/5GB plan from T-mobile for $30/month. If you don't use much voice, it is a great deal.

I notice I'm most of the way through my month, and haven't used a single voice minute. Don't really talk on the phone much. When I do talk on the phone, if I have WiFi access (e.g. at home and at work), I just use voip.
