Samsung Illusion Question

I'm interested in the new Samsung ava for around 175 bucks. What I want to know is can it be put on the old smartphone plans instead of the lousy 80 buck 1 gig smartphone plan? I would use the unlimited data more so than the unlimited talk/text. Any insight would be appreciated.

I heard that it is, but you have to call prepaid CS to get it activated on the old plan. The big thing with this is you get unlimited data with the old plan which doesn't show online anymore because they are pushing the new $80 plan which is much cheaper than the old plan which is $44.95 for 450 minutes and requires a $30 data plan and you'll pay an extra $20 if you want unlimited text which will cost a total of $94.95/mo.
