Not android/google's fault. If you want the fastest updates of Android OS, buy a galaxy nexus. I am an android ROM developer and i am glad i have a Gnex. Already tested leaked JB, waiting for the source drop in mid july. It's the device manufacturers/carriers that delay the updates.

Update for ICS has been out for a long time now, it's just that bell has to crapify it with their stuff before give it to you.

Well Bell released it yesterday, however I recently rooted my phone and the update would not install, do I have to unroot and then root following ics install, or can I install some other way?

Use Kies for rooted phone, then re-root if needed.

Yes it is Google's fault. The issue stems from them having absolutely no control over the usage of their own operating system. If Google mandated updates or forced OEMs to put out vanilla ROMs there would be no issues. The root of the problem is Google, the blame going to the OEMs and carriers is a very simplistic view of the issue.

thanks its what I did, substantial difference on the Note with this ICS update, big difference in speed, what is a good overclocking app for the i717 I would like to bump processor speed up a bit more over stock. Also battery life, huge increase, quite happy with the update. My sons HTC Sensation was the same following update, just alot better , more responsive and way better battery
