Need a keitai to replace my US android smartphone

    I have a SH-01B keitai and a Verizon Wireless Droid 3.

The sh-01b of course doesn't have wifi or internet etc and is limited to SMS, which I don't mind.

However my Droid 3 is acting up terribly and this will be the third phone I've had to buy in a year and a half if I buy replacement for it. (Verizon phones I mean.)

Getting kind of sick of the price of US smartphones and I haven't had much luck with them.

Unfortunately, I do business on my phone. I use the internet a lot and get emails on my phone etc.

I need a replacement keitai that will have working internet (even 3g if thats possible), sms, email and phone calls.

I'm very new to the world of keitais though I have read a bunch of the forum posts. I just want to see what everyone recommends as the best phone for what I need.

    Thanks!

((I will be using T-Mobile prepaid service for the keitai))

No keitai has internet access (can't change the APN settings). There's always keitai with wi-fi ^___^

No keitai in the traditional sense of the word (flip phone) has 3G outside of Japan, unless you get the 007SH but it's so expensive and the software unlock is so ridiculously expensive, AND it's not really the most convenient work phone (but a great camera), that it's really not worth considering.

However, you can alsways get a Docomo Android slab - starting with the SH-12C, SH-13C, SH-01D, SH-02D (slideout 10-key keyboard) and the newer SH-06D, SH-07D, SH-09D, SH-10D (last two will be available in less than a month, expect $$$$). I use my SH-01D for work.

    How about the f-02d? It's like a "beefed-up" sh-01b with wi-fi!

Not over 3G. Wi-Fi will work for the browser, but you'll only be able to access webmail. I don't believe the native email client works.

doing business on a dumbphone is pretty counterproductive, especially if you need to respond to a lot of emails. maybe consider a 007sh or a chinese sharp if you want a flip... but you don't want android?

no no, android is completely fine i won't really be responding to emails so much as just checking emails

No. The email client relies on a 3G connection. only the browser works over wi-fi

On the SH-01D everyhthing works like on a normal Android phone. The only "problem" is that there are some preinstalled Docomo apps that run all the time, which you can't stop, but you've still got enough RAM and processor power to do whatever you want.

Everything (although I misspelt it and wrote "everyhthing) means everything.

There are a bunch of preinstalled Docomo app you can't use because they require a Docomo SIM - but they are rubbish.

If your carrier's 3G matches the 3G frequencies on the phone (3G Network: WCDMA HSDPA 800, 850, 1700, 2100 MHz) you won't have any problem using carrier data.
