I would add that it's becoming fairly clear that JB will have to come out early in Q4 -- if not before.

Jelly Bean is now available to brave early adopting Galaxy Nexus owners! Just downloaded the ROM zip from XDA, going to install it once everything is backed up.
The word 'Pentaband' means '5 Bands', from the Greek word 'pente' meaning '5'. For a phone to be pentaband it has to support 5 bands. If the phone has AWS support, it doesn't automatically mean that it is pentaband.
Don't send me PMs for questions that can be asked publicly.
He's right, Steve. Although, "(to be) announced..." would have been clearer, still the elision is acceptable.

Webster's Collegiate:
elide - 1a: to suppress or alter by elision b: to strike out
elision - ...(<that's an ellipsis) 2: the act or instance of dropping out or omitting something.
You're out of your element, Steve.

You left out a part: (as a vowel or syllable). That means speech. You see this is the first definition and therefore more specific. You can see the suppression of a vowel or syllable is not a description of the omission of words
www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/elide
This refers to writing, not grammar, as you can see from the examples in the citation. It is more akin to "edit".
This is the second definition and is the more broader and has nothing to do with language. It is synonomous with "omission"
The citation for "elision"is actually more appropriate and more demonstrative:

As you can see from Webster's, "ellipsis" describes this construction. But a typo is not an ellipsis so its moot.

Thanks for taking the time anyway.
Steve, I'm a certified HS language teacher, and, in the "more broader" sense, your post is "synonomous" with 'in-over-your-head'.
Believe what you like. You're so far off base I wouldn't know where to begin. But you seem to be enjoying yourself so, please, have fun with it.

Just goes to show, ignorant people are often incapable of recognizing their ignorance.

Tc, I don't know what high school has to do with it but it's up to you if you or anyone else wants to read the dictionary which has nothing to do with your credentials or your putdowns.
If you think I'm off base, show it based on the dictionary; not appeals to authority or ad hominem.
He's not making an appeal to authority, he is an authority. So am I. I have a BA from UBC, majored in English with language emphasis.
You're out of your depth, you have no clue what you're talking about, and you have no clue that you have no clue what you're talking about.
