Touch panel fails to activate on random incoming calls

I've got an odd problem that I'm wondering if is a hardware or software issue...

Randomly on an incoming call, the "slide to answer" fails to work, in fact the whole touch screen panel seems to fail to activate (I can still answer if my headset is paired and I press the action button) This happens on the Sprint Stock rom, Cyanogen MOD, and my current rom (dont remember the name, but it's a Sprint ROM with Sense ripped out)

I dont have this problem when I turn on the screen normally, only when I get an incoming call and then it's randomly ~1 in 10 calls...

Ideas?

If anyone else is having this problem, I found what I hope is the solution (from Android Forums)

Usually this happens when the "screen off" clock rate is set too low, setting it to ~422000 should fix it (hasn't happened again, yet, but as I said it's been a random occurance)
