Galaxy Nexus: still have signal/connection issues? (may want to swtich from iPhone)

I have iPHone 4s on 3G unlimited plan. Use this phone as a backup since I have a free work phone.
But new job and may need to use my personal phone again as main phone.

I hate typing on the iPhone keyboard so thinking of moving to a bigger screen Droid or maybe a BBerry.

My friend has the Nexus and it looks very cool. Assuming with the bigger screen the touch keyboard should be better, and I like the look of the vanilla Android Ginger Bread vs. the dumb skin Moto puts on their Droids.

But I have a weekend home in the Catskills that for the most part, only VZW phones work in and even then only 3G and not super fast.

I read about the NExus having connection issues and signal strength etc. If this is going to be my primary phone for voice as well as data (work email etc.) I want to make sure it isn't going to drive me crazy by losing signal, having bad call quality and/or not getting me my email.

Have those issues been resolved? Or should I go to a different Droid or Bberry? (I had the Bold 9900 and loved it as a work phone)

Data connectivity better but not resolved (for me anyways) with 4.0.4 in terms of staying connected.

I have a weak signal where I work, but I get better reception with my new Galaxy Nexus than I did with my iPhone 4S. The 4S would constantly switch to 1x where the Nexus always stays locked to EV-DO.

Quite frankly, both the iPhone and the Nexus have pretty bad connectivity issue's, with the Nexus losing LTE and the iPhone cannot hold onto EVDO worth a flip.

The Rezound is going to offer the best reception for now, I have pre-ordered the SGSIII and I am hoping it will have a Qualcomm baseband in it vs. Samsung's radio's.

here is some nice information for you guys, i have a gnex rooted with jelly bean and the connection issues are terrible... i think this is the reason why verizon wont release jelly bean because of this... all the GSM users are facing this problem when using wifi also... this is an unresolved issue so far and google apparently is denying there is any problem with the OS...
