T-Mobile Coverage Maps - UPDATED!!

Just messing around with it for a few minutes...

They give you "what to expect" when you click on certain areas at a specific level of magnification.

Zoomed fairly far out you can still see coverage detail on the 2G/Voice tab.

On 4G/3G tab you can see the new towers, where 2G is still at and how 4G/3G is expanding and where it is at.

More detailed coverage description, and roaming coverage is now in yellow.

Gives names of subdivisions, too.

3G/4G maps show roaming on a nationwide scale.

Overall, this is the best personal coverage checker map I've seen on any carrier!

My question is when on 2G/Voice tab I see the yellow "service partner" areas, then I also see great areas that say "no service" - I wonder if that is 911 only? Because, they also have places that are just not marked at all.

Really slow to load for me But they added a TON of new roaming around here but got rid 4G in 2 areas

Just got home and was able to study the coverage maps really well. I'm impressed.. Tons and Tons of new towers.. almost all across the country (Mainly Nothern IN not IL! Oops! , NW OH, Western SC, lots more scattered around in PA, NY, AR) most of them already shown as added and signal already going.. and also most of them 3G.

None in my area but new towers are really not needed just upgrade the really old ones still running GPRS here and we're set

Nice, same ole EDGE coverage up here in NW CA, and 0 new sites They and Metro PCS remain 100% 2G up here, the other guys-

AT&T-99% 3G, with many areas having HSPA+ w/EB, LTE possibly in 2013
Verizon-100% 3G with LTE coming later this year
U.S. Cellular-100% 3G with LTE coming in 2013

So what do I think of them? Well, not a lot, I used to think a lot better of them though. If they would add some coverage, fix their declining customer service and FINALLY get 3G up here, I would think a lot better of them.

Northern Illinois sorta needed them. Quite a few holes in the north suburbs of chicago. They worked on the west suburbs the past couple years so it's nice to see them work on the north burbs.

I saw that...... just in Columbia myself.

What I cannot understand is why in the world they are turning up some EDGE BTS?
I mean.... really....... why.......

My guess is one of two reasons.
1. Lack of backhaul to the site
Or
2. Military is still occupying the aws spectrum. (I'm told its an issue in nc)

Noticed some towers in Texas are only 3g with no 2g access. Don't think it's at&t since they don't have 3g in a couple spots T-Mobile does.

Sorry if I'am slow to the punch, but is T-Mobile showing some At&T 3G areas as their own native areas like in ND, SD, Montana ETC.

EDIT: NVM the map wasn't fully loaded so it showed dark green and not the partner green.

I'll say this for T-Mobile, they offer about the best completely built-out native network in Oklahoma, covering pretty much the entire state themselves, using roaming only in the panhandle and the southeast corner. So for overall coverage they have it made, if all you want to do is make calls and send text messages. For data, forget it, all that native coverage is only EDGE or GPRS except in 6 cities. The don't even cover the entire Oklahoma City or Tulsa metro areas with their 3G or HSPA+. Pretty sad.

Hopefully when they launch their refarming officially they will make a colour tint to show which specific areas you can use iPhones and other international phones in.

Not really digging the yellow. It kind of hurts my eyes, but at least, they ditched the annoying magneta colors for data and replaced it with a differing green/yellow contrast. And, the max zoom in wasn't as good as the old setup I can barely tell which coverage zone my neighborhood block is in.
