I think this is where it is all going to end. I never hear about VZW or any other carrier having data congestion during nights and weekends - except for special events.

A thought came to me. This is just me asking I know that Verizon(or any other carrier) doesn't offer this at all. This might sound crazy or stupid, but I had to ask.
We already have unlimited night time and weekend talk minutes starting at 7pm or 9pm depending on the carrier. What if Verizon came out and said they would offer unlimited data for nights and weekends starting at 9pm.
Would this even be possible. With everyone complaining about how Verizon is changing their data rate plan it was just an idea.

As much as everyone is complaining it's only going to apply to new subscribers.
People want/use Verizon because of the perception that they are the best. I say perception because I had Sprint for a very long time and had native coverage everywhere I needed it. I didn't switch to Verizon for coverage rather I switched for consistent data speeds.
Verizon is king and even the complainers will just pay up as they have been doing for a very long time. Verizon has never had to give anything away, I doubt they will start now.
I'd like them to offer unlimited data like they did with unlimited voice a few years ago--> pretty expensive, but offered.
I'd like it (and would subscribe to it) if they had a "share pool" that had unlimited data for $300 to $400. (so instead of $50 for 1GB or $100 for 10GB, it'd be like $300 for unlimited). With 5 smartphones at $40/piece, VZW would be getting $500 to $600/mo for 5 smartphones.
That is ~$200 more than they get from me now for 5 smartphones with unlimited data and text and practically unlimited minutes [don't even use 1/3 of them], so VZW could capture quite a bit more in monthly revenue...

The old AC plans included unlimited night and weekend data and they canned it.
I never complain about the verizon price until the new share plan came out..
current plan: 1400. 2 smart phone/3 feature. $210
under new share.
2 smartphone/3 feature.= $240 ( 4 gb)
3 smartphone/2 feature = $260 ( 6 gb)
4 smartphone/1 feature = $270 ( 6 gb)
my point is it is not worth convert to smartphone from feature phone. Price increase about $40-$50 per smartphone.
I am refuse to renewal my contract when it expire in 2013.
So my imaginary perfect world would be something like what T-Mobile does. Give 2-4Gb of full-speed data. if I go over accidentally, give me at least 3G speeds (i.e. enough to stream pandora) until my next cycle.
So all plans are unlimited data, but you pay for how much high speed data you get.

PS: I've been a T-Mobile customer and really liked them. My only problem is that I live in a rural community where there's many areas just out of town not covered by T-Mob at all.

hi vatothe, it is confusing. here is an easy way.
I am now paying $210 for 2 smartphone/ 3 feature.
New share data:
3 smartphone/2feature = $250 ( 4gb share )
4 smartphone/1 feature = $ 270 ( 6 gb share )
anyway. Thats explain everything.
from a customer point of view, new share data is not worth the price.
This make sense to the customers. Current family share plan plus 1gb =$50, 2gb $60, 4gb $70 share data.
