port number/keep grandfathered unlimited data plan

i currently have 2 phones, an iphone 4s with the unlimited data plan, and a nextel phone. since nextel is done, i want to port the number from nextel over to the iphone, keep my grandfathered unlimited data plan, and get rid of nextel. is this possible??

Should work without a problem. Just call AT&T's porting department and they'll set it up. Have your Sprint account info ready: PIN, account number, billing information.

Called AT&T business wireless and they said no go, the grandfathered unlimited data plan is tied to that phone number. They said to call the AT&T rep that is the only possibility. Looks like they might be losing a customer if they won't do this

i thought i had to call business customer care, every other time i called they always say i have to be transferred because its a business account. so are u saying just call normal att?

Take it from a fellow Nextillian and the person above.....CALL PORTING DIRECTLY! [Hint hint: HERE is a DIRECT number: 866-802-7560.....directly to a rep. You can thank me later :-)] Simply say that you want to port in a number to replace an existing number. You will probably have it ported within mere minutes and be good to go. Don't screw with the reps who know basically nothing about how it works.
