    Rogers, always blocks updates.

You read about updates in the USA etc.... Rogers is always last.
They tell you it is too make sure your device is fully compatible etc, this is lie they need to make sure Rogers Bloatware is not blocked and still works.

There is no official update in the states for this version, If you check a popular tech forum that starts with x, they have a leaked ics rom for our devices. The international note has an official rom, but it is a completely different device.

There is no more a conspiracy at rogers to hold back updates as there is at any other carrier in north america.........

The existence of quashing proves the existence of conspiracy. Same as the creation of the universe.

i never said there was no conspiracy.....just that there is no MORE of one with rogers than any other carrier!! LOL!

The leaked version doesn't appear to work with canadaian notes......so go get stuffed on gingerbread, ice cream will have to be left for another time.

My Galaxy Note runs ICS 4.0.3 BUT it is the International version. ICS is not even available here for my phone so I downloaded the multi csc GB, changed my regional code (csc) to DBT (Germany) then ran OTC. Germany is always first to get updates so my phone just tells me when a new one comes.

The carrier version will be last to get ICS because the International version has been out for a long time so ICS was being worked on before there were even carrier agreements.

As with ICS on many (if not all phones), the battery life sucks and there are bugs. Aside from that, there is nothing fantastic over GB. Over hyped, under delivered..... if we keep on that track, jelly bean should render your battery useless and send your phone into perpetual reboot :-) or blow it up in your face lol

Like I always say, you get what you pay for and Android is free...

My husband was prompted yesterday to update his IOS on his Note and it took about 20 minutes and he's running ICS. He also loves it over the previous Gingerbread.

You are all getting 4.0.3 im guessing. I just got 4.0.4 from Germany 3 days ago (they get all updates first and I tricked my phone into thinking it's from Germany). You should see it in a few months lol. It adds the video overlay that the SG3 has. You watch a video, hit an icon then you have a small border-less video player that stays playing anywhere you decide on screen no matter what you are doing. I can check email and buy stuff on ebay all while watching video on the same screen. You move the little video window around with your finger, or press and hold to make it go away. Doesn't even slow down the phone 1%. The 4.0.4 seems to have improved the battery drain of 4.0.3 but is too soon to say.

All the better then. I guess it's about time, I've had ICS for a long time. We'll see a time difference between that and 4.1 no doubt.

I doubt you'll even see 4.1, at least not before the Note 2 launches.

Doesn't really matter anyway, I'm done with amoled screens. Fading and burn in shouldn't cost me 600$ Lg is supposed to release their new 5 inch 1080 440 ppi avanced ips smartphone in Sept. One thing is for sure, not another penny on an amoled.

love the phone, hate the screen
