Optimus Slider unable to stream certain radio stations, works on local wifi

    Hi All,

In the past few moths I have been unable to stream certain radio stations using Tune in Radio. Some work and others don't play. The ones that don't play will stream through the phone when I am connected via Wi-fi. So this appears to be a network issue with Virgin Mobile/Sprint. Is there any way I can get the exact stream to call Virgin Mobile and make them aware of the issue?

    Thanks

Always the same streams, and other play in the same location and time?

Seems odd that they would be blocking specific streams. I don't know anything about Tune In Radio; could it be that the app is refusing to play higher-bandwidth streams because your cell connection is too slow/poor?

The Internet is working as it should. Vm isn't going to be able to fix lag.

Well the streams that don't work used to work a few months ago. The only difference I know of is that I believe the channels that do not work are using the Microsoft streaming protocol. I will call VM to see about it. At the very least I can have them try it on another slider and possibly another model phone to see if it is my particular model or a problem overall.

Jeff, I am sure that this works on the Sprint network (I'll probably try it out in a store to be sure). To say that VM won't fix it is possible, but you don't know unless you ask. And if I find out that they aren't going to do anything about it, I might as well drop my data plan because that is all I use the phone for besides text and making calls on it. Metro PCS has a cheaper $25 text and call plan. Will save me and additional $20 per month.

VM is horrible for consistent streaming music. ^^ some nights I will be driving along and its ok, maybe a drop out once or twice, other times 3 of my 4 channels are unplayable because of buffering issues. Remember we may use sprints towers, but we are on VMs plan and that means we a) get lower priority on towers and b) out data gets stuffed through ONE internet connection in Albuquerque or where ever the hell HQ is. So that is two bottlenecks.
