You won't be on 4G if you have control of your network. It means you are not using your 250mb 4G.
You can visit your local store if you want to find out the 4G data usage.

You can also download a free data manager/meter from the Google App store that shows you how much network data you are using vs wi-fi vs roaming. I know roaming doesn't matter so much with MetroPCS, but it's a useful app to have.
You can customize it to show your data cap -- on my plan it's 1GB. Also shows what apps are the data hogs.

NO. Turning off the 4G radio makes no difference towards your data cap. It seems it's DATA period -- downloaded on the MetroPCS network -- that counts towards whatever cap you have, not just "LTE" data. (I have a 1GB data cap on my plan, you have 250MB.)
Because even with LTE radio turned on you will not always have LTE signal. In Metro's language I can't find where it says data downloaded via LTE vs data downloaded via CDMA. They put a weasel phrase in "at up to":
http://www.metropcs.com/metro/browse...ebCategory/SL4
It's TOTAL DATA for the cap, according to Metro's description, not differentiated by 1x/EVDO data vs LTE data.250MB Data at 4G LTE Speed
First 250MB of music, video and other media at up to 4G LTE speeds. For users of the $40 4G LTE rate plan. Puts the power of the Internet in your hands — browse the web at blazing-fast speeds and stream media in a flash!

Your creed may be interesting, but your deeds are much more convincing.
i have to disagree on that chazz and perhaps i misunderstood you if so forgive me buddybut my reason for saying that is ive past my monthly allowance so my 4g now is at 120 kbps basically 1x speed but my 3g is still at around 300-400 kbps which is good even if my data limit has been met, soo if he turns off his 4g meaning his 4g data he can still use 3g or 1x and that wont affect his monthly allowance.
beside the last test on the bottom the two higher ones on this test log is me on 3g the rest is my 4g thats being capped after passing the 2.5 gig limit i have on the $50 plan
It would seem you're both correct. All data is being measured and once you reach your "limit", your LTE speeds may not be "4G speeds". That doesn't mean you'll be handed-off to CDMA (1xRTT) towers; you'll still have LTE connectivity, it may just be throttled. Since Metro recently un-throttled their EVDO, you may experience better speeds by turning off your LTE radio.
Metro won't foster EVDO forever, so enjoy it while you still can. Stick around though and look for campaigns (i.e., launches, promos and changes) to attract new customers -- as well as to convert current customers -- to LTE....
wi-fi slow?My wi-fi is over 5x as fast as Metro's LTE (16mbps vs 3mbpp) and over 50x as fast as Metro's EVDO (16mbps vs 0.3mbps)
See that top speed test? A few minutes ago via my home wi-fi. Work wi-fi is just as fast.
That 2nd result -- and all the rest on that page -- are MetroPCS LTE.
Give me wi-fi any day!
Wi-fi is as fast as your broadband source -- the wi-fi router just passes it on.
Yup absolutely right thank the creater of wifi.... Why not use your wifi its free and many people using it does create problems at time but hey if you refuse to use it for that purpose what makes you think the next person wont go on wifi espicially if he has the admire or any non 4g phone.

yea another thing if ya notice even if metro gave us 4g up to 7 mbps it would flutter up and down on any download if ya take a look at chazz's pic ya can see wifi will always have a lower ping than metro's evdo or 4g Lte and that means smoother faster net speeds compared to the Lte rollercoaster from metro. like i said on another thread the lower the pings = shorter latency= faster smoother speeds!
See that one bar of signal and not even 4G? I was lucky to have that. Most times I have nothing showing at home. That's one reason we keep a Vonage account for a "home phone".
I only wish we could make and receive phone calls via wi-fi using our MetroPCS number. One carrier allows that --can't remember whether it's Sprint or T-Mobile... But using VOiP to send and receive MetroPCS call over our wi-fi network would be great.
