    Galaxy Nexus price drop

Just an FYI in case anybody is on the fence about this phone.

I can't post links yet but it is in the Google Play store.

The price has been dropped to $349.

Aw, geez. I just decided to finally upgrade and get my first smartphone. When the Gnex was $399, it seemed enticing but still too much to pay for a budget consumer like me. So a few days ago I ordered a used ("Like new") G2X online for $195 instead, to use on T-Mobile's $30 plan. Now I wonder if I should try to send that back and, for $150 more, get what seems to be a much better phone. Any advice? For a pretty basic user, is the Gnex worth paying 75% more versus the G2X? If it will serve me longer into the future I might go for it.

A resounding yes. Faster updates, smoother, nicer feeling in the hand, instant shutter - the list goes on.

Tempted.. But the size turns me off. To me the ideal size is 4-4.3"
The quick Google updates are nice though. Hmm choices...

It was a deal at $399. I have no regrets at that price. $350, there is nothing that competes at that price point. And it is confirmed it will be the first phone running Jelly Bean, just like it was the first with ICS.

If you were on the fence with this phone, Google just shoved you over.

Thanks for your opinion, yomuppet! Gnex is clearly better (except for maybe the camera and HDMI). But I'm still not sure it's quite $150 better, especially for a noob.

And sjv, I think you're entitled to a $50 refund! You should contact the Play Store.

Almost double the price is a bit much -- will you get double the enjoyment out of it? Unless you're still wanting more after using your G2X, you should stay with it for a year and evaluate your options at that time.

This is a really good deal on the Galaxy Nexus. I sold my S II in anticipation of the S III but now I'm seriously leaning toward this Galaxy Nexus. Mainly due to price (I'll be buying my S III at full retail) and the fact that T-Mo will be launching LTE next year which the $600 S III doesn't have. No carrier bloat and super fast OS updates are an added bonus. Downside is HSPA+ 21; I've been spoiled with HSPA+42.

I'm sure Google will drop this down to $299 before killing it, but I'm betting that won't be til the end of this year when they launch their new phones.
Castrol EDGE 5W-30 is my drug of choice.

    Toyota | moving forward

    Primary: Galaxy Note II & iPhone 5 (AWS): 5 lines, 1x $15 4.5GB data, 3x $2.99 T-Zones (truly unlimited 4G data), myFaves, corp discount + $10/mo loyalty discount = $88/mo tax inclusive
Secondary: iPhone 3GS: Airvoice Wireless, Samsung Fascinate & HTC Trophy: Page Plus

After using both, it's worth that much just for the updates, if you have the dough.

Guys, it's a no-brainer at this price. I'm running the leaked Jelly Bean update on my GNex, and all I can say is...WOW. It's literally amazing how much smoother everything is, and Google Now is just awesome.

Yes - this is true. You can call 1-855-83-NEXUS (63987) and they will send you a link to get a reimbursment for the difference if you purchased it within 15 days of the price reduction.

I just purchased a Galaxy Nexus and the OEM extended battery. The only thing I'm worried about is battery life. My One S has pretty good battery life, and it uses a 1620mAh battery. I hope the Nexus with a 2000mAh battery get similar life.
