Evo Swift? Dont you mean the Evo Shift?
Sprint is still selling the Evo Shift with contracts. As is the usual case, Sprint probably had to sign a deal with HTC to buy/use so many units so that they could get exclusive rights to the device.
Option 1 is that they have just a bit more to go and so they're getting rid of them on their contract side. They make more money from contracts.
Option 2 is that they still have quite a stockpile of them to get rid of and so they're putting the last heave ho before they unload the device on Booost.
There's arguments supporting both sides. For option 1. The Shift is actually a pretty old phone, they must not have too many to go. For option 2. The Shift never achieved the momentum that the Evo 4g got. I'm sure you can come up with your own...
Oh I see I think I still whether go with getting the iPhone for Boost this September.
I've found out that there are some people who get very emotional when confronted with the fact that the iPhone is going to Virgin and not Boost. Cursing and threatening aside some are even willing to get into a physical duel! I've decided not to say anything about it and listen to whatever anyone wants to say about it.
