I usually support government regulation, but It is unfortunate that the government over-regulated and killed the AT&T/ T-Mobile Merger
The best explanation of the pricing nutiness in the industry.
Why Sprint and T-Mo will always suck.
The only way to end the pricing insanity is to eliminate contracts and subsidies.
I want Wifi calling on AT&T.
If you text while driving, you're an idiot. End of story.
I was just thinking about this. With Google dropping the price to $349, its starting to look like a very enticing offer.
I only worry about dropping my unlimited plan to then find that AT&T has decided to add the device to the IMEI database :/

Was just in the market for a new unlocked phone in the $350 range and I really wanted to get the Galaxy Nexus...but decided not to risk it. Even more so now that they dropped the price, which means even more of these will be floating around out there...I'd imagine sooner or later AT&T won't turn a blind eye to them. I ended up getting a Droid Razr XT910 instead, which I can confirm works safely on Medianet.
Yeah im sortof commited to the iPhone as well. Used to have an old Android 2.1 device and didnt even realize how much of a mess that was till I got the iPhone. Been debating whether or not to give Android another go. I guess the time would be now since Apple just won an injunction against the GNex and who knows how long that will last for.
Im the town over haha. Clinton. Too bad nobody has LTE near us, Ive really been looking at getting my hands on one of those devices. Im not considering Verizon til they at least get Saybrook with LTE as the EVDO speeds are garbage.
Maybe Sprint will be our savior :P
HUH? AT&T has LTE in Madison and Clinton, at least downtown (not up where I am). The tower in downtown Madison as well as the tower at Hammonasset both have 700mhz antennas. Not sure where the towers in Clinton are. It goes from New Haven to Providence (and then it gets a lot wider and goes to Boston) along Amtrak.
Someone was rigging antennas on a tower in Saybrook last week along I-95 (Verizon???), and Verizon LTE (unofficially) went live in Groton/ New London within the last two weeks (some guys in the office picked it up, even though it's not on the Verizon map yet). It's probably a matter of weeks before Verizon gets New Haven to Providence up as well, and connects to the blob in Norwich.
LifeProof convinced me to commit to the 4S. Now I can do whatever whenever with my iPhone, and it's sleek and well protected.
Sprint is dead last around here, and just doesn't care.
There is a solid stripe of 4G LTE from like West Haven to north of Boston. It's one or two towers wide, and follows Amtrak. It was some sort of deal with Amtrak to get coverage for the wifi on their trains, but everyone can use it. They may not pick it up in that store, as there may be another tower up that way that doesn't have it. The Waterford store, which is fairly far north of the tracks sometimes picks up a bar of it, but like 4-5 bars of Faux G.
Can anyone confirm that the galaxy nexus works with the medianet plan?
It does work, the question for us all is for how long. Seeing it get updated faster than all other Android phones still has me tempted to get one, but AT&T may see sales pick up due to Google selling it through the Play Store, and decide to demand the IMEI's from Google. I'm surprised they didn't already in fact...I wonder if it was due to the fact that the Nexus One had a targeted version specifically for AT&T (don't know about the Nexus S), whereas the Galaxy Nexus by default simply works with AT&T due to it having a pentaband radio.
