Suggest a replacement for my ailing N95 please

I need a smartphone with a keypad on the cheap.
My old Nokia E71 is dying fast, as I can't really hear all that well through it when making or receiving calls, even when the volume is maxed out. I think the internal ear speaker must be damaged. I bought it off a guy on craigslist a couple of years ago for 100 bucks and it has served me well.

As I don't have a data plan, I just need a phone to send text messages and make calls only. I also need it to be unlocked, because I take it to South Africa and slap in the local sim card to use it there.

Any suggestions on what I should get to replace it? My only issue with the N95 is the screen is plastic and scratches, although I have buffed them out and that works, the replacement will hopefully have a glass screen. Battery life was amazing on this phone!

What is Nokia's latest incarnation of this phone? The E5?

    Thanks for your advice

The latest incarnation is the 808, but if you don't need all the extra features, get an Asha 302 or 303.
The word 'Pentaband' means '5 Bands', from the Greek word 'pente' meaning '5'. For a phone to be pentaband it has to support 5 bands. If the phone has AWS support, it doesn't automatically mean that it is pentaband. The reason Wind and Mobilicity users like pentaband phones is because the reverse is true. We're not the only ones who like pentaband phones though, so please stop referring to phones that work on Wind and Mobilicity as pentaband. It causes unnecessary cofusion.

I'd look on ebay for an unlocked Nokia Astound. Probably the best sub $100 Nokia you can buy right now.

I guess you will have to specify your required features and purpose on your phone. The Nokia N95 will soon be a grandfather's phone as it is outdated (though it was in the market 4 years ago). It also shows that you don't mind owning an expensive phone. The latest phones have more features and functions. So why don't you try the Asha 302?

I'm another long-time N95 user and just bought an Asha 302. In the past year, I've used N9, C7-00, and my old XpressMusic 5300. N9 was beautiful but I broke it accidentally. Email on the C7 was a disaster and the most recent software update bricked it. I really enjoyed going back to the 5300 so I decided to look for the top of the line feature phone. I haven't used Asha 302 long enough to recommend it but it seems that HoFo could use a new subforum for these higher-end featurephones.
