Are all A-stock and other previously activation phones going to be completely non-commissionable after July 1?
It would seem clear that when we sell a phone we can only get one commission on that esn. But what about phones where the indirect channel has not paid a commission? Or another agent has, but not us?
Seems like we won't really know for certain until the payouts are posted in August.
If you have A-stock in inventory now I guess it is a matter of how lucky do you feel?
Same wording has been in iPhone portion from the beginning. SO FAR, hasn't been an issue. I've been worried about a scenario when a customer purchases an iPhone and then changes their mind and switches to something else and we have to resell the iPhone. We got paid on the iPhone originally, but so far I've also been paid on the iPhone when it resells too. I would sure hope so, because having two phones go out and only being paid commission on one of them would suck. I think the wording is more to prevent agents from activating customer provided equipment on a 2 year contract. It says the payout will only be month to month no matter what. Not sure how that will work exactly though. I never buy or sell used equipment like that. I only purchase new stuff from VZW and my only issue to maybe run in to would be returns as stated above.
Actually, when the iPhone first launched, we had case scenarios where an iphone was "resold" and we were never compensated for the activation, because there was never a chargeback on the original sale. i.g. Customer purchased a black iPhone, one week later the white one comes out, so we process an exchange, resell the black one, but never receive compensation on the resale.
Verizon then changed their agreement, I am assuming because a number of stores were not being compensated on iPhone resales, & so Verizon began paying us on the resale of iphones.
At this point, I am assuming that we will not be paid on ESNs that have been previously active & Verizon has already proved that they have a system that can track previously activated ESNs.
I may be wrong, but I'd hate to be sitting on the edge of my seat for two months, waiting to see if I was compensated on a "CPO" device.
Or on any exchanges, cancel the contract in eroes and redo it.
Hi there. I'm the guy on the other side of the counter. If you're a jerk to me, guess how hard I'm going to try to help you?
