We'll see it, but no one will care by then. It will just be playing more catch up to what iOS, Windows and Android will already have.

Fool me once RIM, shame on you. Fool me this many times, shame on me.
But on the plus side, I knocked over the SunSphere.

WTF seriously? The whole launch is held up again because of BBM? BBM should have been multi platform years ago.

There is more than one way to do secure chat. RIM could have made a multi platform client that forced over-top asymmetric encryption with OTR http://www.cypherpunks.ca/otr/

Everyone has their reasons for leaving the platform. Personally I'm tired of being told my pictures look like they're shot from a 2002 cell phone camera.

    RIP.

They won't even last another year. Too bad too, the bold was a great platform for some awesome software, and the new spy pics of the ten were sweet. But haste makes waste. In the form of bb closing its doors. They might of had a chance getting the stuff out by Christmas. But they are done.

Funny enough, there was a time they went multi-platform and there was BlackBerry Connect for phones like the Nokia E61 and Sony Ericsson P990i, then they closed it all up just before they launched the BB8310 Curve.

Of course he missed your 'point'. What world are you two from? I pay the same amount for data regardless of what handset I'm using.
This confusion can easily be avoided if you pronounce the word intended aloud. If it has a voiced Z sound, then it’s “lose.” If it has a hissy S sound, then it’s “loose.” Here are examples of correct usage: “He tends to lose his keys.” “She lets her dog run loose.”

    Loose
not rigidly fastened or securely attached

    Lose
to miss from one's possession or from a customary or supposed place

Also, just because a word has an "s" at the end, doesn't mean it needs an apostrophe.

    Q1 2013?
Maybe in Q3-4 2012 they will realize that the Q1 2013 target release date will be missed and will push the date back, again. This date isn't believable in any shape or form until they can prove otherwise. Even if the Q1 2013 timeframe comes true, Android and Apple devices will have hardware specs and software which will blow BBOS10 based devices away.

RIM will keep on releasing rehashed devices while they figure out BB10 so they appear to remain relevant, straight from Motorolas playbook.

Agreed, the new CEO is just as bad a Jim, just in a different way. All Jim was worried about was buying a hockey team, the new CEO is coasting along like nothing is wrong. I don't have a degree or anything but I can get into there and whip that place into shape. I would have the first 10 device, release before Christmas. Then work on new tablets and qwerty devices. Bb has a great set of features, just the people in command are acting like nothing is wrong.

I don't understand what he is thinking.

From what I have heard on the inside, Q1-2013 is Jan1, and it wasn't RIM's idea, it was the carriers.

The carriers, told RIM that they would be able to make a bigger splash in January than in Oct/Nov, as apple, and the android crowd will be climbing over each other for Christmas sales...

The same source also told me that since Thorsten has taken the reigns, RIM is working closer/better with the carriers. The old mindset was 'we invented the smartphone, skip to our tune... Talk to our legal dept if you want to run a special, and we'll get back to you some year with approval'...

They were talking 3-4 months turnaround for a special that was happening in 6 weeks!

It's no wonder the carriers stopped trying to push RIM...

Apparently, RIM is stroking the carriers now (as they should), and we should see some carrier hype shortly...

    time will tell...

I have great faith in RIM. Their fall has brought them back down from the clouds; and have started a new renaissance a new beginning. B10 is going to be amazing!

    No one has mentioned that:
Q1 - Always, really, means March 31st. In RIM's case you always have to add 3-4 months to that. Latest example: Wifi calling ability and acting as a wifi hotspot was supposed to be added to 7.0 phones by "end of Oct. 2011. Came along, as I recall, about end of Jan. Assuming BB10 does dome out in May or JUne - that will be almost TWO Years between any new phone models!!
GoogleVoice (domestic call forwarding and cheap intl. calls)

T-Mobile lines on unlimited "family" plan - me, wife. Cost is about $80 a line incl. 5GB/mo. data on each line. We have had no landline in 7 years

Well, it doesn't really matter whether you think so or not. It's fact. I pay the same for data regardless of the device. The only difference with a BlackBerry is that it needs to be provisioned on the account because data is routed through RIM's servers.
