I was going to be FORCED onto the new plan

I went to my account and acted as if I were going to add one more line to it for a total of 5 lines. I added a smartphone, 4G I believe and if I had went through with it I was going to be forced onto the Sh*teverything plans. Also, my bill would have went up over $100. No joke.

    thats no joke..

My bill will go up $30 a month if I am in share new plan. This new plan is no real value to me. why verizon offer unlimited talk???

If I need 700 min, I will buy it. If I need 1400 min, I will buy it. If I need unlimited talk, I will buy it.

No, it's true. I just looked at my old plan. I can change anything. Minutes, text, data.

Online has a bad habit of forcing you to take whatever is "current" and new whether it's really required or not. People that don't know any better just do it, which is probably the goal. If you go to a store or over the phone then you'll be fine.

I was trying to compare prices with our current plan online and selected upgrade hardware and couldn't figure out how to force it over to share everything, so it may only come up when adding a new line?

I called to merge two accounts and switch to it. I'll save $40/mo after switching one dumb phone to an iphone but had to give up unlimited data on 2 BB & a mifi. But... we only use like 100 mb a month on each BB and under 2 GB every other month on the mifi (with little usage on the mifi other months- $60/mo for unlimited bandwidth I'm not using). I went with the 2GB plan for now, till I see how much the iphone user uses.

I went through the same thing last weekend. I am considering adding a new line to my single line of service. It automatically took me to a page declaring I must upgrade to the new plans. I emailed Verizon and received this reply:
As an existing customer of Verizon Wireless, you are allowed to add new lines of service and stay on the Nationwide Family Share plans. In almost every case, it is more cost effective to choose a Share Everything plan when you have multiple lines, but you do not have to change to the Share Everything plan.
He obviously didn't look at my usage or he is forced to parrot the company line, because based on my usage the new Share Everything plans are a guaranteed price increase for me. It would be a Share Everything including your wallet moment.

Actually if you're on a single line today then you're not already on a family plan. I believe your only option is to go to Share Everything if you add a line since you don't already have a family plan.

Yep, I agree that his answer did not directly address my question, which was whether or not I could add an additional line of service and switch to the anymobile family share plan, since I am currently on a single line anymobile individual plan.

No, you can't switch to a plan that isn't offered any more.

You are wrong. For now u can still switch between the 1400 700 ect and even change features. In fact it will allow me to do this right from my verizon i checked yesterday.

You can do that because you are already on a shared plan. The person we were responding to is on a single line plan.
    I am still correct.

When I do get a new phone, if they tell me I have to get rid of my unlimited data plan, I'll just terminate that line on Verizon. No biggie.

hi f34r, I am 100% sure when you upgrade your phone, you will loose unlimited data. ( but verizon will give you 2 gb for $29.99.

    you have 3 options:
1.You can sweet talk live with verizon and see if they give unlimited data for $30.
    2. buy phone from ebay or etc.. that will keep unlimited data.
    3. terminate.

I will loose my unlimited data in 6 days. ( upgrade coming 07/10/12.)

#1 absolutely won't happen so they better decide between 2 and 3.
