It might be possible? Just like some users were able to keep their grandfathered plan with the new phone(s)

Right?! The Triumph will be $199 soon enough, and when its on sale, maybe $150. Lets not forget about the day it came out it was attainable for $220-$230 +/-

Mine only has HTC on the battery cover. On the front glass it has the HTC logo in the top left corner and the Sprint Logo in the top right corner.

I thought the $5 discount was only for people that get the iPhone.

Yeah, I guess it is. Well that makes no sense, if people are going to spend $550-$650 on a device they will pay the $5, especially the iPhone, lol.

Easy enough to do once rooted. The rooting process is... complicated, but easy to do. This is mainly due to needing to unlock the bootloader first.

I wrote a simplified how to based on existing rooting instructions. All you really need is a little know-how within the command prompt on Windows.

I personally love the hell out of the Live DMesg app since I can see the logfile scroll by when the phone boots up in place of the horrid Virgin mobile animation and jingle.

So far so good now that its activated. Couldn't get it activated via their website. Had to call customer service twice! So far its great. Doesn't say sprint anywhere on it, but I noticed my voicemail had to be re set and it said welcome to sprint voicemail. It's seems to be an upgrade from what I was getting from the intercept and triumph. Gonna wait before installing any apps , want to see how it performs stock first. This is a dream considering its pre paid, no contract!

I went and looked at pictures. It appears my phone was originally for sale by Sprint then reallocated to VM inventory. The biggest tell-tale sign is the HTC logo on the screen glass. On the VM phones it should be top center as there is no VM logo on the front. On the Sprint phones it is to the top left so the Sprint logo can be top right.Name: DSC00656.JPG

Curious about this $5 discount too, but you do end up paying fees and taxes if auto-pay, so if discounted you probably end up paying $32.50... you can get discount Top-up cards for like $34.50... so it's really only a $2 discount. Trying to decide whether the EVO is worth giving up my $25 plan. Have a 5" screen Galaxy Player, so not sure if it's worth it (with hot-spotable OV).

same here. Part of me wants it to die and part of me doesnt.

However if VM gets a Windows 7 phone then I'm jumping ship.

Why don't you guys get a triumph? its a good device and will enable you to keep the $25 plan.

Because unless you're lucky enough to get a non-defective Triumph, it's actually one of the worst, most unreliable and buggy phones in their lineup. The rate to sales versus returns is at least 5 to 3. The phone sucks.

Lucky enough? That makes it sound like Triumphs with problems are far more common than triumphs without problems. anyways, a custom ROM usually solves all issues..

I am in the same boat. I have a few $25 plans... Never really had much luck with the Triumph. I can put up with a lot of the issues but the worst part is reception does not seem as good as it is on the OV.

I thought they changed it so that if you switch to ANY new phone, you will lose the $25 grandfathered plan.
