AT&T galaxy s3 will work on monthly 4G plan?

If I buy AT&T samsung galaxy s3 at full price and have them unlock it, can I use that phone on $30-100 minutes - 5GB at 4G plan?
att version will work on tmobile's HSPS+ 42 and future LTE??
att sells it at $549 and tmobile sells it at $629 & tmobile version will not work on future LTE network.
so att version will work without any problem?

Unfortunately, it looks like the ATT version is the I747. It includes quad band gsm, 700/1700 lte, and 850/1900/2100 umts. No 1700, so you'd be stuck with edge.

The only sgs3 that comes with aws umts is the t999, which is the tmobile version (also mobilicity, wind, videotron in canada), but that version does not have the lte radio. Looks like the other sgs3's don't have aws umts at all. The Japan model (sc-06d) has band ix 1700 (incompatible with american 1700 aws), and 800mhz lte (probably not compatible with american 800).

    Tis a real bummer.

TMO got access to the 1900 MHz spectrum as part of the dealings after the failed merger with AT&T. They are refarming their network so phones with no 1700 MHz will get 4G eventually, but it hasn't happened in a lot of areas yet. They released a press release back in May stating it would be available in "a large number of markets" by the end of the year.

If you buy the AT&T version, you will be stuck on EDGE until TMO finishes building the network out in your area.

"T-Mobile reiterates their wish to launch 4G HSPA+ in the 1900 band in a large number of markets by the end of the year. Current testing shows a 33% increase in HSPA+ data speeds and improved in-building coverage. “Rolling out 4G HSPA+ services in the 1900 MHz band will also offer customers with the ability to use a broader range of devices, including the iPhone, on T-Mobile’s 4G network.”

The ATT Galaxy S3 could work with T-Mobile 4G (the hardware supports it)

However, the modem software on the device has been locked down at AT&Ts request. You'll likely have to wait until some enterprising developers at XDA find a way to port clean modems to the device (similar to what they have done to support T-Mobile HSPA on the ATT Galaxy Note and Skyrocket)

The TMO and AT&T S3s have already been rooted, so I imagine it won't take long.
