The local morning news reported June 29 was the 5-year anniversary of the iPhone.
Some figures like, 235 million iPhones sold, accounting for billions in hardware, iTuns/App store and AT&T revenue.
I took possession of the iPhone 3 for starters.

I can't believe it's been five years. I remember i bought the very first one on AT&T didn't like it so I returned it. Got hooked on the iPad last year then gave the iPhone another chance. Haven't looked back since and can't wait for the 5th one to be released.

I didn't migrate to the iPad due to it's lack of convenient carrability.
I have the iPhone 4/OS 4.2.1. And am also eagerly looking forward for the iPhone 5.

You mean you just got an iPhone 3? How retro! If you meant 5 years ago you got an iPhone 3 that's not possible since the iPhone 3G didn't come out til a year later.

You've got it all wrong! I was a late adopter of the iPhone. It took a year or so of being "nagged" by a friend to own one. When I vacationed to him and his family, seeing it so proficiently demonstrated I was instantly convinced "gotta have it!!!" The at that time model available was the iPhone 3.
I'd add I was kinda/sorta worried about giving up my Nextel service after so many years of simple and reliable cell phone service. If I knew then what I know now!
