    Wind Mobile Nexus S

Hi guys, when I signed up for Wind I got the Nexus S on the WindTab+. Now I am looking to switch carriers as the service in some areas I go to are shoddy at best. I was wondering if the Nexus S I bought from Wind is unlocked and which carriers can I take it to. Thanks a lot for the help guys.

It is unlocked already and unfortuantly you will be stuck with Rogers/Fido/Chatr as Bellus does not have 2G service ...

in both cases your phone will only work on Rogers network's 2G and not the 3G band and same goes to Bellus but with Bellus you wont even be able to make a call !!!

You can do Mobilcity. Otherwise Rogers/Fido/Chatr works, but only on 2G EDGE data.

Unfortunately it's not as flexible with all the bands that newer phones like Galaxy Nexus or S III has.

So Mobilicity is the only other carrier that my phone will work "properly" on eh?

If you're in Ottawa, you could try Videotron, but they're coverage is only in Quebec and Ottawa. They have spectrum in Toronto but they haven't used any of it yet.

Yeah I've heard it's pretty bad as well. I mean Wind isn't too bad, there are just some areas that need a lot of work to be done. I'd say I'm relatively happy with it.

They still had Nexus S units left??? Wow.

If you need to switch to the Big3, I suggest you just sell it on Craigslist/Kijiji for as much as you can get, and buy one that works on your new carrier. Or if you have the spare cash, do it in the reverse order so you aren't phoneless at any point =)

Consider perhaps the HTC One V on Koodo? Very affordable. Or buy someone else's used Nexus S that came from one of the Big 3.
