Well I am at work at my workstation which is a different town 30min north that wasn't hit as hard. The cell network still floated down there though....downside is having to charge phones in my car.

Jump in the car and waste 8 bucks in gas charging it, to feed the addiction!

Delmarva power is saying that if you don't have power now you won't get it till the weekend! And driving around downed trees is getting old now.

Didn't even need gas. I left my iphone plugged into the car charger overnight and used the N1, then I swapped in the morning.

Chester had a massive outage on Saturday from an exploding transformer downtown. Knocked almost the entire city out of power but AT&T and Verizon's generators both held.

That's pretty pathetic. Here after the hurricane most AT&T and Verizon towers were up, running on diesel. T-Mobile was just dead. AT&T's landline network, with the exception of a few places here and there where the wires didn't stretch under fallen trees and actually broke, was 100% working with U-Verse VRADs backed up with small generators, RTs on diesel trailer generators, and COs on permanent diesel setups.

You're always going to lose a tower here or there due to backhaul going down or whatever, but they should have plans to keep 80-90% of the coverage up off of a good portion of the towers (possibly increase some sectors' power to replace lost towers).
