If I lost my Android phone w/o cell data, what could I do? What must I do in advance?

If my Droid Incredible 2 is ever lost or stolen, I'd want to...
    1. Remote wipe
    2. Locate
    3. Play a looped sound at full volume even if the phone is on vibrate
    4. Display a message
    5. Use the front and rear cameras
    6. Report the phone as lost/stolen

The problem is that #1-5 seem to require cellular data, and currently I have that disabled both on the account and in the phone settings. Also, I usually keep GPS off. If I enabled data on the phone (but not the account) beforehand, could I ask Page Plus to re-enable data on the account so that I could then do #1-5? Could I remotely enable GPS over that data connection? What apps/services would I need to set up before losing the phone?

I assume #6 is easy, done through maybe a form on the Page Plus site or at least by contacting customer service (live chat, email, phone). Should I still keep a record of the IMEI, serial number, and MEID? The phone is already linked to my web account.

In the case of my iPod touch, I use Apple's iCloud to keep my data automatically backed up over the Internet. How can I get automatic backup for an Android phone?

Check out Cerberus, it may be what you are looking for. Or try "Android Lost"...

I recently tested the "don't mention a PP Dealer by name" rule here on PP Hofo......trust me, it is still in effect - got me a 7 day ban.

Watchdroid can do the 1st 4 things on your list, and does not require data. It even can turn on GPS when it's off.

Thanks! Cerberus seems pretty awesome based on the description and reviews. I'll definitely give it a try. The only thing unclear to me is whether or not I can remotely enable the GPS, since I'm on 2.3.3. The description says that on < 2.3.3 the feature works without rooting, but for > 2.3.3 it requires rooting. It doesn't say anything about = 2.3.3.

I looked at the app page for Watchdroid, but it didn't seem as good as Cerberus.

    So, what about automated backup?

What are some of the other apps that can do #1-5? I am way out of the loop, lol
