One isn't selling, one is but has been there longer, and one is the newest. -_- When evo came out I bought the one and only one my radio shack had. My target still has not replaced its however. Infact were kinda shafted in VM stock, weve had NO VM phones for weeks, got a couple elites in and the BB knockoff and those sold out within 2 days so back to an empty VM section.

I'd like to renew my request for the UPC number from the back of the box for the One V.

I was able to buy one at my local Radio Shack on Friday. At first, they weren't sure if they could sell them. But after a phone call or two, they decided it was ok. :-)

I checked my local walmart and they didn't have it, they actually only had one phone left (the Wildfire S) I asked where all their VM phones were and the lady at the counter said "Oh we're getting rid of all the Virgins" and I was like alright then..

Almost every Walmart has been saying that for years. They have no idea what they're talking about. Bottom line is: some Walmarts have them, some don't, some start selling them, some stop. Its so strange.

I'm still trying to figure out the hype about the One V. Compared to the Optimus Elite, it's only 0.2" larger. Oh, and it has Sense/ICS, and Beats. Other than that, the internal stuff is pretty much the same.

Then again, some people are all about Sense, ICS, and Beats..so maybe its just me.

Just picked up my HTC One V yesterday from Radio Shack. I've very much enjoyed my Optimus V over the last year, but I wanted something with a bit better camera. So far I'm in love. ICS with Sense 4 is really nice (except for the horrible Calendar app replacement). The phone itself feels great. It's so much smoother than the Optimus. I'm not loving the camera so much yet. It's quick, but my indoor images have a very strong red tint to them that I need to figure out how to fix. I hope it's not a problem with the device.

For me, so far, it was worth losing my grandfathered $25 plan... unless I can't fix the camera.

    Nice job, HTC.

Sorry to spam the thread, but this might be helpful for other One V owners. In investigating the red tint issue on the camera, turns out it's the screen on my device. If I view the photos on my laptop, they look great.. so I eliminated the one issue I had with the device so far (red tint on camera images) but unfortunately added an issue (red tint on the screen). This for me isn't a dealbreaker, though.

Build quality, battery life and screen. Viewing angles on the one are incredible, good luck getting updates from LG, and battery goes all day. Its a very nice mid range phone. Also the camera does a nice job as well. Cons would be non removable battery but haven't had any restarts or freezes.

It can be an issue specific to the screen also for brightness reasons. Sometimes when I shoot videos or pictures, they look far more yellow on my Evo than they do on my computer. But only depending on the light conditions. So it's more of an issue of a limited gamut (fine color detail) of the screen in certain ranges than anything else.

As someone who has ordered (but not yet received) one, I'll share a little bit of my thinking. I looked into a lot of the prepaid smartphones on Boost and Virgin (Mostly Boost, because I wanted the shrinkage thing, though I ultimately went with VM specifically to get this phone). You had the upper tier I couldn't even remotely figure out any way to afford (iphone down to the evo) and then there was this lower tier of phones that, quite frankly, based on user reviews just seemed to have significant make-me-want-to-chuck-a-phone-at-a-wall type of issues that should have triggered recalls plus outdated software and hardware. Obviously, I wasn't going to get a phone I couldn't even remotely afford unless money started dropping out of the sky, and I couldn't see paying even the lowest of the low smartphone prices on something that was going to irritate me (Even cheap smartphones are expensive enough that it's a sacrifice, and I'm not making it for something that's going to irritate me- if that were my only option, I'd have stuck with my feature phone forever).

The HTC One V seems to hit a sweet spot. Reviews from the UK say it's reliable and operates as expected. It's running Android 4.0 (The most current software on a headset right now, though I hear Nexuses are getting upgrades to 4.1 soon) with the a stripped down Sense UI that seems to include the good parts without the annoying parts. For a prepaid phone, it's got pretty good specs, even though it doesn't match the postpaid phones' specs. You feel like you are getting a quality reliable product that's very current with it's OS (and has the specs to handle that OS). You feel like you could basically do what the postpaid people do with their new phones (in 3G markets anyhow, and not taking VM's smaller coverage area and lower average 3G data speeds into account) running the same version of the same OS. And it comes in under $200 (Still a big sacrifice to me, but I felt like the max I could figure out how to do).

Basically, the HTC One V seems to be current, reliable, and have the features and specs one expects in a smartphone at a price people can manage. Everything else either hits too high of a price point or seems like a piece of crap someone is charging you over $100 for.

Let's look at the Prevail, on Boost, as an example of what I mean of being a phone I wouldn't be willing to pay for despite a decent price point. It's running an outdated Android that'll never be updated, the camera isn't good enough, and the internal memory is so low that literally the preloaded unremoveable aps (Can't be transferred to an SD card) try to update and then fill the space completely and cause major issues. Or you could opt for the ZTE Warp- better specs, but frequent reports (and I mean like every other review on some sites) of people saying it would freeze up 3-4 times a day every day and require users to remove the battery and reboot every time, and an outdated Android not likely to be upgraded.

HTC One V is a "budget" prepaid smart phone where you actually feel like you're getting something decent and current that'll work and do what you want to do with a smart phone. It was the only one I saw like that on the prepaid market.

Ignore all older phones... if you cant understand the differences in price and performance reasoning between the elite, the one V, and the evo 4g, get the elite and never bother us again.

The older phones should be discontinued quickly imo, to much confusion.
