I have about a 90% success rate with this setup. But it's worth a few retries once in a while, given the price. However, I use it for outgoing only as I use OneSuite for all incoming at $1 a month. Errors on incoming would be more problematic.

So i am curious im really debating about getting the Oobi thing because i like to use a "Landline" Phone so i don't have to depend on my phone needing unlimited minutes so much (in a way i could but just to make some things easier). So my question is if i get this device can it be used for fax machines? Because thats the only reason why im keeping my Land number for the fax portion of it even though i don't use it too much. But can use it when i need to tho.

Google Voice uses g711 which would work fine with faxes. However, I understand there may be issues with 33.6 fax, although that probably simply won't be negotiated. No personal experience though, sorry. Perhaps there's a software fax solution you could try with google voice through a sip provider. You can setup a pbxes.com account with sipdroid first if you have an android phone. Otherwise, you could use ipkall and sip2sip to test incoming sip faxes. Or setup your own pbx server (pbxinaflash is a nice and simple turnkey pbx solution that supports google voice out of box)
