It was to be their 5th phone ever. All the stores had to send 'em back obviously.

This is not the case however for the GoWell, it is just a typo like icemasta said.
Lol, that would be good. I really don't remember it happening though - do you recall which model it was at all?

I've been trying to find it for a while, these forums don't let me search easily, it was discussed here a while back too. It was a funny moment.

Well, it's only $59 and it includes $10 credit + 6 months of free eve and weekends. So the phone is, like, free!! Don't forget just the SIM card would be worth $25. Activate it, take the SIM out and use it on another phone, if you like. No matter how crappy the phone (and I don't think it can be that bad...I've used the U1250 and that's an ok phone), it's a no-brainer if you need a non-smartphone as a spare that you can throw in a purse, or the bottom of your briefcase, or carry while skiing or doing MMA!

I was thinking the exact same things. And don't forget the free incoming calls (that never ends as long as you top-up).....

All for a measly $10 a month, lets see anyone else offer something like that, and with any phone at all.

And one can hardly call a spec error like this a "serious overlook". The spec error saying the u2801 had wifi was a little more serious than this.

No you're off by nearly a year.

Dec. 16th 2009: HTC Snap, BB 9700, Samsung Gravity 2 (in orange, blue came much later) Huawei u7519, and a data stick, Huawei e181 maybe?

+1. Do the $40 top up and the cost/month drops to $6.66. Might be worth it just to keep and use for US roaming. Does anyone know if you need to top up during the first 6 months when there is free eve/weekends?

Okay so LOL moment on my half. I had to call up some people who have worked at WIND since launch (there aren't as many as there used to be) and had it confirmed. The GoWell Quip was the exact same phone in Spring 2010 that WIND stocked up on, and had to re-send back because it didn't support any AWS bands. Looks like they figured it out, and then forgot to put the details on the web. It's also probably why this phone has 0 warranty too. At $40 though, who cares.

I'd assume when Wind sent it back, they told GoWell to switch the GSM components to one that had AWS. Don't think Wind is that stupid to actually sell a non-AWS phone considering it costs them $ for users to use the roaming features on the phone.

So you're saying this phone has, or does not have, AWS?
