Well, I hope there's no catch because I too consider switching to that plan. I use my phone a lot, but nothing too much "data consuming", so 500 megs is plenty for me, as well as the 150 minutes. Comparing to my actual Telus plan, it's about 20$ less, plus a time limited 5$ rebate (offered by a representative who came at home), and over that, a 5$ student rebate. So, if al numbers are good, it ends at 30$/month (+tx). Not bad, not bad at all...

I talked to Telus retention tonight and the best offer they would give me was my current plan, plus SMS, for 50$+tx, or 8$ less than my I'm currently paying. I also called Rogers and nothing special over there, actually they offered me a 59$+tx plan... In the end, I might become a Videotron customer sooner rather than later...!

I got too what was an offer I could not believe from Videotron... we would have 4 services with them if I signed up, so I know she included a bundling rebate...

Their offer on a 3 year term:
    150 day minutes
    Unlimited evening/weekend 6pm-7am
Unlimited text (message, picture/video) incoming and outgoing
    Unlimited email
Unlimited Long Distance across North America
    6 GB data
30 Min Illico (TV on device) per month - seperate data from 6GB
    Voicemail, Caller ID
    Total: $42.95/month +tx
    Hardware: Samsung Galaxy SIII 16GB - $145.

Even Rogers retentions could not match that... Best they could do was $53 a month with more day minutes but not unlimited LD (they offered the MY10 Canada instead). They did match the phone price.
I am really tempted by this....

How did you get that plan?? It's a really good one if you use a lot of data. I have the one from the first post, at 30$ for two years, then 35$ for the last year. So far, I'm really satisfied with my phone (Radar 4G), WinMo7 and Videotron's coverage.

Here's something you might find interesting to know. Last week, I went to Rimouski. Past Montmagny (approx.), you get out of Videotron's covered area. On you phone, it says Rogers for a while, then Partenaire. In Rimouski, it's Partenaire. Still, you can use your phone for calling and texting, at the same rate (there's a chart for that somewhere on Videotron website). But if you want to go on the internet, you will get a message telling you that this function (date transfer) is currently turned off (because you are not in Videotron area). You can turn it on if you want to but you may have to pay extra fees (you will...). In the end, voice and texting worked all the time, as for data, I used wifi at the hotel and in McDonalds, which was plenty enough for me.

I just asked her what the best plan was I could get; was pretty specific in what i was (and wasn't) looking for in terms of airtime, data and options.
They also offered me the exact same plan, but with 2 GB of Data for only $32.95/month! I'm actually thinking that this might be even hotter; when am I realistically going to use 6GB of data?

That is very interesting that you would have had to pay extra. They told me that as long as I was in Canada, all airtime, messages and data would be used from the plan - ie no roaming 'extras' within canada.

There is some info on that page, especially under the link "How are rates set for calls made while I travel?":
    http://support.videotron.com/residen...services-rates

As for you 2 gigs plan for 33$, that's pretty awesome...

There is no fee to use Data on partner/rogers if you are connected on an Antenna from Rogers in Quebec.
You will get 2G or 3G depending on your phone but you have to activate it in your phone.

On rogers/partner mobile Tv is not avalaible and having an incoming call going to voicemail will use day time minutes if you are in that frame.

Can someone else on here confirm if this is correct?

Each time I contact Videotron customer service I'm told something different. Yesterday I called and the guy I spoke with told me it cost $2/MB on the "partner" network in Québec. I've also been told on multiple occasions that using the "partner" network incurs no additional costs assuming you're in one the grey coloured areas on their coverage map.

For those of you who are with Videotron, any comments on the data speed?
