After all, the carriers have a business model to protect. Don't believe me? Look at Verizon's quote in the link above.
Just to argue, how is it better elsewhere?

I'm actually disappointed in Verizon. I'm roaming on them now in Marshfield Wisconsin.

Yet still charging $90 for lowest rate smartphone plan. Not appropriate! If you are going to charge way more than other carriers, you better have the network to back it up. They dont....period.

Also roaming with T-Mobile, but paying $35 for practically the same thing as Verizon.

Verizon needs to really building out their network if they charging nearly 3x what T-Mobile is doing. Don't care what the fanbois say .....

Well compared to T-Mobile they really are building out their coverage.

You also have a grandfathered T-Mobile plan so your pricing is irrelevant.

Looks like you may be able to get a smartphone for 80 plus tax with the 300mb plan. I wasn't sure that was an option except on the basic plans.

Woo....they are still roaming, yet cost far more than T-Mobile. So much for "America's most reliable network" and "Verizon provides coverage off the highways" this is false...period.

And I have grandfathered plans on both, Verizon is still a waste due to no upgrades unlike T-Mobile....what's your point?

When I did a comparison it popped up for me as an option.

But with that little data for a smartphone, why not just get a dumb phone and save some money and run less risk of an overage. With that little data on a smartphone, it will take extremely little to push you over that especially on 4G. It's a total ripoff for smartphones. I mean how do you go from 2 GB for $30 a few weeks ago....to 300MB for $40. WTF. But hey you can share that 300MB with up to 10 lines! LOL. Its a rip off. Its one thing to want to make money. Its another to blatantly gouge customers to the point of it being a butt rape.

+1 their new set up is a rip off.

And I am still waiting for the VZW fanboys in here to actually confirm if they switched to the hideous new share plans. I can tell you I would not, really not sure what I will do when my phone croaks

I wish you would move and save us listening to you. I think this is the same advise you give jet.

And to reduce your waiting, read the threads.

I can't move, I'm stuck because I was lied to. Had i had known what verizon would be like, i wouldn't have joined. Jet doesn't have a contract, and continues to complain, because he's too cheap to dump his legacy plan. But when contract and phone dies, I very will likely move, because I will not benefit from verizon. And I am shocked the company that proclaims louder than any other is roaming, and on only 1x, LOL

If enough of us Verizon customers leave, and policies are reversed (not likely), you actually will owe us "bad" Verizon subscribers a thank you

Vz is getting pricey for my blood whether I like them or not. I'm still evaluating the new plans to see if I can save anything. To get a similar amount of data as I have now would cost me more money which stinks. Debating on whether two lines would be enough on the 300mb.

I'm becoming less and less a fan of verizon these days. Their business practices stink.

They are building out, mostly because they have too to stay competitive. And they grandfather it as long as you pay 2x+ the amount for the phone . Isn't that a great deal?

The one near Austin High School, not the downtown campus. I am typically only on the campus though, everyone says the campus is in a bad part of town. Not sure though.
