    Add new phone to boost

I am looking at buying my first phone. I have a few questions for people who are familiar with boost's pay as you go plan.
    1. Can I add an ulocked android or iphone phone? I wouldn't mind using wifi.
    2. does 50/day mean 50˘ a day if you use it. can you use it all day for 50˘
    only?
    3. For people who have used the plan, is it worth it?

    1. No you cannot use an "unlocked" Android or iPhone on Boost Mobile. The iPhone is not allowed on the Boost network at all (at least not yet), and only Android phones whose ESN's are on their list of "permitted phones" can be activated. There is a way to get unauthorized Android phones on Boost, but that involves *questionable* ESN alteration, and I don't think that is what you meant by "unlocked."

    2. There is no Pay-As-You-Go (Paygo) plan for Androids on Boost Mobile. The only plans offered for Android phones are the $55/month Unlimited Everything plan, and the $2.00/day unlimited plan. The $55/month plan reduces itself to $40/month after 18 months due to Boost's Shrinking Payments Plan, however the $2.00/Daily price does not change.

    3. Most, if not all, Android phones have WiFi, so that really isn't a problem. Since you are new to Boost, I recommend you purchase an "authorized" Android phone from Boost or eBay or wherever, as you will be able to activate it without any hassles. Also, if you get the new HTC EVO Design, your plan will include 4G (where available) at no additional cost. Meanwhile if you try to use a "modified" Android phone, you will be guaranteed to not get 4G service, even if the phone is capable of it.

    * Incidentally, all of your questions could have been answered by looking at the BoostMobile.com website.

Thank you. There was no info on an adding an ulocked phone on boosts website (i know they don't want you to do such a thing).
Question 2 and 3 were asking about the pay as you go without a smartphone.

Okay you got me ---- the website does not specifically address using "unlocked" phones, at least not anyplace where it is easily seen. The "Terms of Service" section does state that unauthorized phones, devices, etc., are not permitted on the Boost network, but you'd need a magnifying glass to read it.

As for the rest, you preceeded your questions by asking about Android/iPhones on Boost, so I just naturally thought you were also asking about using those specific plans with those phones.

I can't comment on using PayGo since I've always had the monthly unlimited plans, but maybe someone else will weigh in with their thoughts.

50 cents a day is charged if the option is turned on, whether you use it or not. You can turn it on and off from the web site as you please. The 50 cents buys you 24 hours (midnight to midnight) of Internet use to do with pretty much as you please. At this time, they do not appear to meter your usage or impose caps or throttle your speed for "excessive use" but that is subject to change.
